Quik heads up that we've made a deal with a local brewery for an exclusive party beer that will be sold nowhere else (those who met the organizers at Breakpoint will have had a sneak preview/taste).

We've just signed a deal for a 6mbit linkup - should be enough...

Random North American Scener Living In Finland wishes to find method of getting to party with other sceners, so he doesn't end up in Borneo rather than the party place.
i.e. I need to fly somewhere, and then catch train/ride, then party, then return to airport.
Köln was suggested but so far haven't found anyone actually GOING from Köln. (Which confuses me (: )
Amsterdam is a possibility as well. But I'd prefer booking tickets, like, um, soon (:

otherwise, but the cologne sceners personally, they're lazy fucks, and because they're german they don't know about parties going on in non-germany unless repeatedly told.
by far the coolest two short busrides away from the partyplace airport is "maastricht / aachen". if you can find a flight there, you win. i know for a fact that there's a bus from the airport to maastricht (nl) and one from maastricht to maaseik (be), but there might even be a direct one.

oh and truck, when i said "you win", you have to read that in the context of "getting to maaseik is pretty impossible to begin with", of course. third option is flying to eindhoven, renting a bike and biking there. i did that once, it was great. bars every 3/4 kilometers.

Skrebbel: I sort of called Franky a bit ago (OK I sms'd) and Franky responded with the info I needed, but I'm still wishing to find someone ELSE who is about to make the trip. That way I can avoid, ya know, Truck Eee Shoes. Like "oh, the flight back is TOMORROW. Huh. What am I gonna do in the Budapest airport for 24 hours?"

@Skrebbel : Afaik there was no (when i checked) decent connection from say 'scandinavia' to maastricht airport. Unless you want to change in the UK wich kind of beats the 'lets get there cheaply' motivational point i guess...
And yes the Cologne guys should come into action.. Verdammt.. I'll spam them once more I guess...

franky, ah ok. but i mostly meant that maybe you should put a lost of the "nearby airports" on there, plus some directions on how to get from there to the partyplace.

As a last resort, i think there's a train going from Köln to Genk and I could pick you up there.
Köln is only 130 km from Maaseik, so franky's suggestion of picking you up at Köln is a possibility too.

In long : no direct train from Köln.. You have to go to Liege, change to Hasselt, change to Genk. Note that Truck is uncapable of communicating in french - making the transfer in Liege "one of the more funnier ones :p "

Kuroto: Appreciated; but yeah, 'Truck finding the right train, paying the right fare, and avoiding being imprisoned for his incredible likeness to Donald Rumsfeld' are the issues here.

i am not going unfortunately - it's the weekend before my next big worktrip to russia, and i willl be busy. hope it'll be a good party for you guys!
