An eric schwartz movie or an arnie movie??? I sure as hell don't remember that half-squirrel half-woman thing fighting terrorists...

some c64 cracking groups took their names from the games like LIGHTFORCE perhaps.. and IKARI should be inspired by IKARI WARRIORS

still i guess band names were the most popular source

BEASTIE BOYS vs MANOWAR

and politics:D how about NATO? G*P could play the role of EU there with the famous stars intro.. (btw i am voting tomorrow AGAINST joining the union!)

however MADONNA CRACKING GROUP tops 'em all! MADONNA lives, MADONNA strikes back, MADONNA #1

Crimson Jihad is the name of a worldwide terrorist band in the movie 'True Lies'. But don't worry, Mr. Schwarzenegger stops them in 96 minutes or so.

is there a group "crimsom jihad" ? that movie is great although schwarzenegger as governor of california gives me the creeps.
the movie rocks, i only know the german verision:
"... um der welt zu zeigen, daß CRIMSON JIHAD jetzt eine atom-macht ist" [with arabian accent] and
"battery nasis"!

ps: i would like to sell some demo group/crustcore band names i made up! :)

would anyone buy
"stuka assault"
"wachmannschaft"
"ellenbogenstoßbrigade"
?

(just kidding)

Crimson Jihad is the ultimate PC destroyer terrorist group. Just take a look at their Mekka&Symposium 2001 and 2002 wild compo entries. Just note that Americans might find them a bit offending...

We in foobug are bad rippers. First I ripped Who needs guitars anyway from Alice Deejay. Then jobe stole Strawberry fields forever from the Beatles. And for our Asm '01 intro I stole the word Exodus from the Bible. That's almost as bad as ripping words from the dictionary.

KLF the dance act stands for Kalisian Liberation Front, which may be related to Robert Anton Wilson's books.

as said before, the klf changed the actual meaning of their 3 letters like every 2nd week. =)

did someone mention Fairlight was also a games name ;)

personally I think Handjobb would've made a much funnier name anyhow...
The Fairlight was the first sampling workstation/studio in the 70ies and 80ies

Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer uses the preset flute in the intro

BB Image

A lot of early amiga demotunes used old Fairlight samples
