punqtured: no, as i wrote: we are *also* looking for newly graduated developers (which means that we seek both newly grads and experienced devs).

my take on the salary is that it's higly competitive and most likely higher than in the game/creative world.

ever heard of any business ethics and what not to ask in public?

That, as you call it "business ethics", is there only to HIDE the wage numbers in order to suck the blood off of the unaware/passionate ppl. There is NO f%*$£ ethic... It is a nice word used in order to hide the hypocrisy, if you are on the sucking side.
Ethic...

So it's perfectly ethical to reveal other people's wages, something they might consider their own private business, while smash is a blood sucking vampire? What film was this again?

+1 for sim.
Plus, computer scientists suck at defending their rights at work, so let's watch out.

so having a PhD in ribbons is optional?!?!? once in a lifetime indeed! :P
Do not get me wrong: I am not interested whether Smash got some quids from it or not. And Magic maybe was kidding in fact.
As for the offer itself - looks quite cool as an opportunity and I think it is nice Smash shares it with the dudes here.

What I say I wrote as my answer for so called "businnes ethics".

Psonice: It is normal to talk about it if you want to. Usually ppl hide sth, when it is not clear or if the intentions were/are not clear. Nothing more.
Did I say that the author of this thread sucks blood?

Cheers!
