Android Barker: Even if I'm a little sad to have let baby 256b.com go, and 256bytes.net kickstarted thanks to the source code, files and dump of the database of 256b.com, you are the boss of 256bytes.net and can do whatever you want with it: change the design, the database, anything. It is your baby now.

@p01:why you sad?(
Joins shouldnt be used on public pages

lolwut...? Deep down there's some sensible advice there (like "be careful when adding joins - they can be really inefficient when done badly, so always keep an eye on query running times") but when generalised like that, that's worse than useless. A table of a few thousand records joining to another similar-sized one, with the right indexes in place, will take about 10ms on a typical webserver setup. If my queries did start getting impractically slow, then I'd sooner look at stuff like caching before arseing up my database schema to avoid joins.

humm... it didn't take long to go down.
Oh well. It's probably for the best considering Android Barker's behavior and web dev skills or lack thereof.

more than. domain's registration costs ~$50+ $32*3 for 3 months. it was enough for launch site.

nowaday my job almost over, so..you know..

hope, p01 will say "u're fucking lamers!" and start own place. it would be great.
btw, 256b.com still appeared on the Web with strange error messages.
new Hugi mentioned one.
I don't really understand anything about hosting, but as far as I know domain costs about $15 a year and shared hosting is about $70 a year.

What am i missing?

this hosting are realiable and techsupport very good. maybe it was a choice.maybe mistake. in Russia you didn't find php+mySQL for such prices.

128/256 intros of course)
Even 15-20 EUR/year, let alone 25 EUR/month is ludicrous when we have such kick ass solution hosting as untergrund.net

TLM: The original 256b.com was in PHP+MySQL but it's so dead simple that it can (re)done in anything.

@p01: i am busy a little. will send request to untergrund again.
intros are up to 833 entries, and i have more prods to submit ones.
Good luck with your application for an untergrund account after flaming people and your blatant rip. Some attitude is welcome in the demoscene. Pushing it, not so much.
