Fuck ASD!!!

category: residue [glöplog]
Many of their recent demos, shows up on my nvidia machine with screwed up geometry and fuckin' slow fps count (not that this is actually matters, as i can't even see the demos right.)

They have nice creations but as coders they sucks badly, I don't wanna downgrade my drivers just to make my machine compatible with their demos. I've other uses for my GPU excpet demos you know.

Why Radeon users can enjoy their demos, and we nvidia users don't?

Fuck you ASD. At least release updates for your demos, fixing these bugs...

Assholes.

Yes, fuck everyone who didn't see the upcoming changes in graphics drivers released years after a demo. How dare they not to foresee the glitches!
You just don't understand their art.
well i indeed would appreciate fixed versions of the asd demos but i vaguely remember navis not being exceptionally careful with the sources once the demo is released so this might never happen.
no need for insults tho.

I would appreciate if today's demos would launch on my 2008 laptop.

How anyone dares to make a demo and not support it for at least five years after its release! Spending few minutes of my life isn't free you know so that makes you obliged to submit updates. Oh, and better add some new features if you want me to watch the demo again!

I'd say that defines latest ASD demos... I wouldn't call that a bug :-)

What this guy is saying is true, in that we should have paid more attention to running the demos on nvidias and see what happens. I think since 2010 there is an option to turn on a console and see where it goes wrong. It is always an issue with the shaders not compiling properly, like casting errors which can be fixed on the spot. Thats what I have to do at a party if they have an nvidia or a difficult amd. I myself have three amds but havent had an nvidia for a good 8-9 years.

So yeah, in the meantime the youtubes work just as fine and it is less hassle!

I forgot to mention how tou turn on the console: just run the exe with a param (any) and it will popup a console. Trace errors in there- they give you reference to misbehaving file. Shader programming is quitr tricky some times across the whole range of cards in existence and there are bugs that come from the card/driver itself sometimes. For example the gl_FragCoord with glpoints. It doesnt always work!

I for one welcome ASD's new glitchy look.

As long as it's just shader bugs, there's still a chance to just edit the shaders, though. No need for the main executable's source code in that case.
But is this running correctly somewhere?
Apart from that, youtubes of ASD demos are always a pleasure to watch and the brat ought to be ignored!

it would be a shame if in 5 years all that was left from the original big asd demos (or any other popular demo) would be video captures, because no one remembers which configuration works.
well maybe in 15 years when theres gpu emulators for all those old and ugly dx11 games ;)

boy...
...we use up almost all of our sparetime to make demos, which we then release for free to the masses, so if theres a problem with some configs you cant say "you dont fix that so you are an ASSHOLE!", see where my point goes?
But you are some fake-acc anyway, maybe just trolling, maybe just not cool enough to simply open a normal thread with your real nick and a normal question like "could you, coder(s) from ASD, please try to fix your latest prods for NVIDIA as they aren´t watchable right now due to graphic-glitches, thanks!", maybe you just had too much booze or even as others said already: you dont get the new ASD-style; its supposed to look like this!

Navis a bad coder, haha, wonder who you are and what you coded so far :p
Can I be an asshole too please?

Spoiled consumers... They think they have a right for updates and support for what they didn't pay for and for something someone else did in their spare time.

FUCK YOU Leonardo DaVinci, go ahead and fix that canvas you used, the paint is wearing off, when I go to the museum I see visual glitches everywhere!! You're a bad artist! At least make updates for your paintings, fixing these glitches... Asshole.
