pouet 2.0 bugs me beautifull

category: general [glöplog]
Another thing: meta description is wrong for a google search on "megademo by phenomena pouet" (without the quotes), second search result.

If you don't get the same result order as me, google my 2nd result link: "http://www.pouet.net/prod.php/avatars/user.php?who=526" (without the quotes).

This link does not lead to the prod, nor to the avatar of the user, but some misplaced prod link.

So some bug in the meta description AND the link handling. Just noticed this by accident before :) ("What, two hits for the same prod on Pouet??")

>> i can't change the download link if only difference are the uppercase/lowercase letters. <<

e.g.
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=19325
has a broken download because of amigascne.org problems.

current (non-working) link is:
http://ftp.amigascne.org/pub/amiga/Groups/D/Defcon_One/DEFCON1-PowercutDemo
...while working is...
http://ftp.amigascne.org/pub/amiga/Groups/D/Defcon_One/Defcon1-PowercutDemo

anyway,
when I tried to change it, pouet says "you didn't change anything" and leave the the non working link.

p.s. i could put this in "fix me beautiful", but it's not the first time I've occured this problem, so maybe it's a time for fix (e.g. not to ignore case when comparing strings in submit_modification_request.php?

thanks!

At two prods I wanted to add release date and also compo, party and rank. I filled out the forms but only the release date got saved. Is this supposed to be? :)
The prodlist page comes back empty if I am on page N+1 after selecting another type or platform.

To reproduce: Goto prodlist page, order by thumbup and goto page 5 then select another criteria like platform="Pokemon Mini" to notice page is empty.

The input element named "page" combined with the GET method on the form probably has something to do with it. Suggest resetting "page" value to one when using the type/platform selection tool via JS for quick fix.

bonus bug: canonical link in the head should be looked at if page numbers should really be there.
Can we please add this to pouet's css style sheet?
Code:.th_firstpost, .th_userfirstpost, .th_lastpost, .th_userlastpost { width: 120px; }

This would fix the currently broken layout at BBS.

don't know if this is a known one (or is just me) but on certain prods with a large number of comments the trumpet background after some point (usually near the last comments) is not rendered at all. (example)

The problen could solve when adding a site-split to the comments. Maybe 50 per site or editable in the options. Imho

This is actually a browser bug. I do believe it only happens on Firefox, since here with Google Chrome the background tiles all the way down, but back when I was using Firefox background would stop tiling if the page was long enough.

re: prodlist empty page issue

You can also use also two form tags on the prodlist page for a simpler no JS fix.

1 - The selection tool on the top gets its own form tag

2 - The "goto page" and submit button on the bottom gets its own form with platform and type added into the action attribute.
Honestly, the way it is now is at least predictable. It's not always a good idea to pretend to think for the user.

no comment on this? The reasoning behind my proposal is, that if the length of a topic title is too long, then EVERY row of the topics table gets doubled. And this is an eyecancer, in my opinion.

I don't mind.

How about being able to specify a user-defined css in account.php to be included on every page?

Ok, I know that. But surely there's the advantage of not having to do that on every device that you use to browse pouet, if it's pouet itself including the user-css. Anyway, I got it. You don't mind.

The new special URL handling for Pouet prod links in the oneliner doesn't work if you use the https site. Chrome blocks it by default for being insecure. The fix is easy: just change around line 345 in script.js to use https.

(You can get Chrome to load it, just click the shield icon to the right of the URL bar and allow it. Not fixing it just means for https users Pouet prod links will stay as "link me beautiful".)
api.pouet.net isn't served as https (yet)

Please add maxlength="303" to the oneliner textbox input since that's the maximum length that you can send over oneliner.

dunno if the thread is right but i don't care ;)

anyway, is there a possibility to display the whole watchlist on a seperate page? since it has no "more..." button on the bottom.
a small feature request. in a group page i can sort prods per category but i can't sort them per platform... is it possible to enable such feature?

it would be great to have the "random prod" fefature back.

Just add something like this to your bookmarks bar:

Should work just fine!

As a matter of fact, /prod.php alone should suffice.
