I absolutely love this demo. It's short and doesn't do much, but the music and concept are fantastic. My only gripe is the trees needed a bit more obvious movement, and earlier too.

10 out of 10 for concept. Simple, but effective.

the idea with the trees is nice, but i hate the techno music.

I don't like this kind of music either, but in this case it supports the visuals in a way no other kind of music would do. Rave-Demos, you know. ;)

Btw, funny that TS added this one. Take a look at his dialogos 2ooo 4k intro... ;)

Not 2000... 2001. Trees rule anyway. :)

The track is ripped. It's 'Adagio for Strings' by William Orbit, remixed by Ferry Corsten. And that is not exactly techno, rather than trance. And I am telling you all that because it happens to be one of trance tracks I like the most.

So, this is the first case of using a ripped track that annoys me. They shouldn't have imho.

As for the demo, it is infact nice, but not exactly mindblowing. The design tries to look like the video clip, only the video clip is better :-)

A simple, but very enjoyable demo which works perfectly with the music.

However, as the music is ripped, it gets a thumbs down from me.

I wanted to add that ANY decent visualization that synchronizes to THAT music, makes my pants wet, so... :-)

As has already been said, this is a good enjoyable demo with no frills.

It leaves me dizzy after watching it!.

The funny thing is: The idea for my 4k intro came up just after Mekka 2001... And I´ve seen the two productions which are often compared with it (the fa(lite) and sonnet) just about one month after its release at dialogos 2001 ;)

don't take this one too serious.
This is okay, but you should hunt for "The fü" by PowerRangers to get the real pheeeling ;-)))

Now This Here Was Worth The Download, And The Music Is Beautiful, A Loop Function Would

It's beautiful but I still didn't really like it.

I won't rate the graphics here (looked extremely horrible on a voodoo3) but i'll thumb it down for the ripped music. (which is a trance remix of one of my all time favourite 'classical' tunes: Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings")

just to make it clear: this prod was never entered in any competition, this was a cheer-up stuff, Reptile sent to OverDoze demoshow (and demoscene meeting), where there was no competition at all. It was fun. it didn't meant to be anything else...

although there are some ideas in there, its ugly and tasteless.. and muzik! damn u people, does noone knows anymore what techno is? apart from straight beat (which is also not even a necessary part of techno) there's nothing like techno..

The concept rocks and the glowing tree is cool, but the disgusting texture, buggy "billboards" and a total lack of camera movement make this into a thumb down..

Anyway, you cant help but get a good feeling from anything that uses this ripped but classic track, i just wish it had been used with a bit more respect and given some better visuals to accompany it.

Saw this years and years ago, re-watched it now.
Love it. Rather simple designe, simple but great colors, very nice tree fractals.
And, the music, wow.
