Yeah!!! This brings back some ole' memories !
BUT can anyone tell me how to get it going
on WINUAE ?
I have tried ROM12 & 13, NO-DF1: and basic
RAM but no go !
I seem to remember that it was a BITCH to
get booted on a REAL Amiga !!

MASS: It works like a dream on a regular 1.3 config. 512k chip, 512k fast, full ecs, more compatible 68000, match a500 speed, df1 enabled. A couple of parts seemed to appreciate the cycle exact mode though.
As for the demo, what can I say? Yet another classic. One of the best demo soundtracks from those times too, by Uncle Tom in Atom Demo IV.

@Steel: On real Amiga some parts require the old 8371 Agnus to work.

I have a massive essay of things to say about this classic, but I'll try and keep it short as possible. :)

Apparantly, this was the very, very first demo that ever got passed my 3 and a half year old retinas, back in Easter of 1990! Me and my sister were just completely awestruck with what we were seeing on our father's TV screen, with all them scrollers, bobs, coppers and other unusual stuff you don't see in the games of those days!... not to forget the great tunes! After watching this, along with a lot of old C64 demos a few years later, I had a huge crush on the older computers that I still love today. I would have never been interested in the demoscene at all if it wasn't for these demos.

I recently had another watch of this classic (thanks Motion/GMI for helping me set up WinUAE etc)... it still amazes me today, where the Commodore/Amiga scene initially started from, and how much amazing stuff has come out since! In particular, I find it amazing that someone like Mahoney, went from that attractive "Blue" part in this demo, all the way to the exceptionally amazing stuff he's brought out on the C64 recently, like Cubase64 and Storebror for example. I'm not spiritualist, but hell he's still got the fucking spirit in him!!!

I was also saddened over hearing about the death of Atom. That guy made some really great parts in this demo too.

I can go on and on, but as I want to keep this comment short... I'll just finish it off with a MEGA THUMB UP to this MILESTONE CLASSIC ! Thank you North Star and Fairlight for the great memories!

One of my first megademos on the A500. Yeah, the music was extremely good and I often listened to the tunes and recorded them on tape in those days. Anyway every part has it's own kind of atmosphere.

In my top 5 amiga demos of all time. The last 2 demos need kickstart 1.2 or it ends shortly.

Megademo 3 was a bigger and more badass production ensuring the rise to the fame of Northstar and Fairlight, with new metallic gfx of the time, more edgy, cooler tracks from Titan (Uncle Tom), and more interesting with the variety provided by the wacky parts from Mahoney & Kaktus. Watched and rewatched many times. :)
