If you do, just ² take any star atlas or something and check it! You will ² surely find word "altair" there. If you are not satisfied ² with this answer, here is an alternative one: 'Altair' is a ² name of a polish demoscene group which happened to take its ² name from a celestial body called so. Still don't know what ² I am talking about? Well, I am afraid I cannot help you... ² Just keep on reading and you might soon get an idea of what ² 'Altair' really is. ² ² Altair was founded by GED and Stealth a long time ago. ² GED had an Amiga and was supposed to be an artist and main ² organizer; Stealth had a PC and was supposed to be a coder. ² But because of laziness and lack of time, our group did ² barely more than just exist. In the beginning of 1997 ² something began to change. In the meantime, some people ² joined the group, GED became Malfunction and Stealth became ² BlueShade. Amongst those who joined our group were: ² Corrozya, Dzozef, Harvuh (calling himself Axis now). The ² first official appearance of Altair on the scene occured on ² Intel Outside 4 Party held in July of 1997 in the city of ² Wloclawek, Poland. We presented some of our work there and ² even made it to the second place with Dzozef's, and MLF's ² DNA 64k intro. We relased some other productions there but ² they were not rated so high. This year we have been to ² RushHours98 and relased some artwork as well as one 256-byte ² intro. Our next move was to come to Quast98 Party held at ² Elblag in July. Almost unanimously, we think that this was ² the nicest party we have been to as a group... The relases ² there include music, ray, gfx and 256b intro (the last one ² came 3rd in the compo :). At Satellite, we relased some ² music but failed to stay in Szczecin (the city where the ² party was held) until the end of the party due to some ² higher powers... During the next few months, as we were ² preparing for FreeSide (which failed to take place) and then ² for Astrosyn 2, some things have changed. First, our group ² gained a new coder - Lett. Then we were joined by two other ² guys: DJ Regal (swapper and musician) and Singer (musician). ² And thus came Astrosyn 2. The party was nice although some ² might disagree with this opinion.
