makc: "maybe make it free for people coming from russia - thay *do* have the change problem and need all the troubles/paperwork for visa." -- that's not really true. I'm paying my employees to care about all the visa stuff. Getting a visa for Breakpoint really is only a matter of sending your personal info to my company and getting a travel insurance. We then send business visa invitations and all required documents directly to the german embassy in Moscow on our own cost.

Regarding transports: The airport shuttles are paid by those using them (and it costs far more than 5 Euros ;).

For the Bingen shuttle we want it to be free for visitors. If it wouldn't be free, less people would use it, and instead more people would use their cars to get to the hotels, possibly drunk. More car traffic means more problems with the neighbors and the city... we also want to encourage people to actually visit the city etc.

Yeah, i must admit that - without such help we'd got a much more visa asspain last year. (There were/is still pretty enough of this pain, though. =)
But anyway, bp team did all they could in our case. Big thanx to scamp and the team for that.

Truck: Aw come on. As if they're keeping track of you. But my point was really just that it's a stupid thing to start oversocializing because it leads to possible abuse, which plants seeds of suspicion, which leads to bureaucracy and preferential treatment for well-known sceners, which is very contrary to the things I like about BP. Of course, not caring at all is equally stupid. So I guess I have no point. Dammit.

Just FTR I'd never suggest you'd cheat to save a few bucks at BP. Just that in theory you could. Or someone like you.

Meanwhile, whatever happened to Mat?

unssi: Yes. He no longer gets in for free, and I don't think he attends anymore. Might be relevant to the whole GGIFF discussion.

... I haven't been this ambivalent since Rob Halford came out of the closet.

Gargaj: Come on, man...we all knew it, on some level. I mean...his voice, his leather, his unearthly effords to look like someone taken directly from the Blue Oyster bar. ;)
scamp: Well, there has been a lot of suggestions, some good, some bad.

In general I don't see a solution in hoping for one good idea will save Breakpoint. I think it's important to combine a lot of solutions, so yes, start offering pricy company tickets, start charging girls, start charging a symbolic amount for using to Bingen shuttle service (come on, no one would mind paying 1 EUR per trip), set up a anonymous donations service, etc.

Or, get a new sponsor! ;)
Oh, and I hate the whole VIP idea. Not just with Breakpoint, but anywhere it's being used. We don't need a class-divided scene, IMO.
scamp: but... but... norwegian OIL DOMINATION...?

Je, the VIP thing would be awfull. Would only consist of Obnoxious Whalekilling bastards like myself.
But a t-shirt thing would maybe do. I PAYD ?? EURO EXTRA AND ALL BP GAVE ME WAS THIS LOUSY T-SHIRT.
Black with white writing. Cheapest quality.
Most people will not pay a higher entrance fee just to be nice, but if you give them something, people will pay more.
Raise the entrance fee for all, and have a +20euro ticket witch includes a lousy t-shirt.

Nutman: you're just saying that because your Danish Pesetas are worthless in Germany!

tft: Make that a plain BP T-shirt, throw in some complimentary hookers and crack-cocaine... Wait... Where was I going with this? Oh yeah, Plain T-shirts. Since those are already being made (I assume), this would be cheaper I guess.

Scamp: Why not have a donate option on the breakpoint website so people that feel for it can transfer some money to you or your organization account or whatever. I appreciate the work you do for making breakpoint possible.

My suggestion: Less money for Brisbois and less money for kebby's toys from Muhl. They'll understand it.
What are the rules on bringing, for example, pressure cookers, deep fat fryers etc?
and also I like to keep fit so I was thinking of bringing a rowing machine
