I think I might have to say Jeroen Tel, although it's a close call between him and Rob Hubbard. Both of them created a lot of classic tracks (Alloyrun, Cybernoid 2, Noisy pillars... Auf wiedersehen Monty, Spellbound, Thundercats...)

Honorable mentions go to Mad Max, 505, Tim Follin, Jon Dunn, Ramiro Vaca, Martin Galway, Maktone, Blaizer et al.

ok since a lot are talking about c64 a bit.. how about digi tunes..

easlily my fav would be turbo outrun by JT
savage/hotrod/rubicon (not checked if its digii) by JT
game over / combat school / arkaniod Martin Galway
skate or die + bmx kidz/Hubbard

I did like the music of ashley hogg also, he did some digi remake of venice in peril etc, again digi.

the best fred grey tune i liked was mission A.D

the tune from the ratt+ben game, the one that was used in 1001 intro's... i think it was from fernandez must die?

I do like tim follins stuff, simply due to bionic commando, level 1, and the title music.. and his gauntlet 3,led storm and ghouls n ghosts tunes... but he did do FOUR sound channels digi on the speccy version of Agent x.. was impressive.

As for Richard Joseph , had to be Antiriad music on the title.

on bmx kidz, theres a quite ambient tune on the hiscore thing , I think it might be by Jori Olkkonen , its pretty cool.

david whittaker was ok, but Tim Follin I thought was better.
for me : Carlos/jecoute the most incredible xm's writer

but, the top of the top : DJAM & MOBY because i listen 1000000 times their tunes when i was 14 on my fu**g amiga. they make me dream.

Tim Follin's c64 soundtracks were ok, but I much preferred his work on the NES (like Solstice and Silver Surfer).
There were also a lot of talented musicians in japan during the (S)NES-era at companies like Capcom, Konami/Ultra, SunSoft, Natsume and Tecmo, but I don't know what their names are.
