Will ASD: LifeForce reach the all-time top?

"Popularity breeds popularity"

Just too friggin' bad when a prod gets enough thumbie downies, it will cut audience since people are prone to go with the flow instead of making their own minds about it.

And Fairlight is the whore of the demoscene.

Wow, that was so low and so lame. Sounds like a mix of bitterness and jealousy.

nutterboy: yeah, afaik the popularity is purely based on pageviews. If you'd make a script that refreshed the asd:liforce product page every other second, it would raise in the list.

Just hire a botnet to do a distributed click on the asd page :)

Now pouet would DoS, but that's another matter !

false on all counts.

a little elaboration:
- popularity is based on unique hits, not single ones.
- the top10 is based on popularity AND thumbs

having a lot of hits isnt enough to score into the top10, you have to have the best votes too.

Gargaj: Thanks for elaborating on that, but what is a unique hit, to be precise? IP-based or does it have something to do with cookies? Not the eatable ones, mind you.. ;)
Oh noes!

Dropped from 9th to 10th place!

dunno,if i´m totally out of time´n´space right now (a-lot-of-bOOze-again...u know me.! ;) ) ...
...but besides Lifeforce not crawling up that fast (i thought it would enter the top3 in a minimum-of-Time.!) ...
...anyone got the fact that DEBRIS took over #1 in front of that popular-one.??? (i just recognized...having trakked Lifeforce every single day,i could imagine i just didnt see it....)
Maybe that's because Debris is a better demo than Lifeforce?

Just guessin' here..

Nah... Justin Timberlake is not a better artist than Sufjan Stevens. So you're wrong my dear okkie.

(that's because ASD Lifeforce makes me think to the abundance of ideas in Sufjan Stevens' music)

Seems oxb and me both have the same discussions with okkie ;)
Goddamn oxb, you're also into Sufjan Stevens? And it kinda makes sense, since I'd prefer Justin Timberlake over Sufjan Stevens any day! Heck, I'd prefer a monkey screaming at the top of his longs over Sufjan Stevens!

You said longs....
dammit! LUNGS! LUNGS!

okkie, you'll understand when you'll be a big boy. ^-^
justin timberlake is a debris.

"dddirrtty babeeee
you see these shackles baby I'm your slaaaaaaaaaaaave
I let you whip me if I misbehaaaaaaaaaaave"

Yeah, THIS is what a monkey can do.
oh where's the whip (preferably with rusty nails) again?

hahaha...

SHAAAAAAAAAFT. (okkie knows)
You're not very kind towards Farbrausch oxb. Do you get angry about pop music a lot? Do you reside in Steven's soothing voice?

Don't go John Wayne Gacy on me please..

John Wayne Gacy Jr would have killed Justin Timberlake. He used to like pre-pubertal boys "with their cars, summer jobs, ohhh my goooood".

I do suppose that Justin Timberlake has big cars, but c'mon, his singing is really a summer job.

And that 'Ohh my goood' is the gayest 'ohhh my gooood' ever recorded in the history of man!

I'm not a big fan of Timberlake myself, but at least he doesn't make horrendous gay tracks about serialkillers featuring recorders! Recorders for crying out loud!

OH YEAH. I WAS WAITING THAT. The GAY argument.
Now I know everything about you ! ^-^

haha. just kidding. to be honest, I'm more into Steven's music than his lyrics. John Wayne Gacy Jr is a quite disturbing song but not in the right way...

That's a bit like for Lifeforce. I'm more into the effects, the flow, and everything than in the meaning and the message.

Dude, with Stevens it's hard to avoid the gay argument! It's fucking everywhere!!

Enough of this music mumbo jumbo, I can probably flame your entire music collection. (You have albums of the Arcade Fire, Neutral Milk Hotel, Postal Service and Explosions in the Sky) And you can probably flame mine. (Come on, guess some albums I own!) but in the end that would be pretty useless :)

And you may like what you will, so will I, I think Debris is better because it appeals to me more than the uncontrolled pretentious blabbed that is Lifeforce.

Agree to disagree oxb! And at the next demoparty we both attend we have to severly discuss music! ;)

god.
I enjoy The Postal Service.... but seriously, it's not what one could call "interesting" music, it's even more naive than my music.
Quote:
Arcade Fire -> YES, Neutral Milk Hote ->NO, Postal Service-> YEEEESS and Explosions in the Sky-> NO!

okkie: Well, just teasing. You would be really surprised about my (huge) music collection. I am absolutely not narrow-minded when it comes to this subject ;)

And sure, having a beer and talking about music is all I like dude :)
added on the 2007-09-18 17:54:41 by oxb oxb
Same here, but I love fussing about it! It's the most useless thing on earth to discuss about, but goddamn if it ain't fun :)

Now queue Shifter to post how much Justice sucks and I'm a fag for liking them :)
