Anyone else got sick after BP08?

category: general [glöplog]
I got a flu and my stomach went bonkers with diarrhea and vomiting throughout the Wednesday night. Recent querys have also indicated that I'm not the only one around...

So how you guys been feeling after the party?

I am so effing sick it isn't funny. I only wish to not be sick now.
with such a weather and partying tiredness/sleeplessness i guess it's quite normal a few geeks out of 1000 get sick :>

last year i had something similar and concluded it was from the pizza at monday morning that probably lingered around through the whole previous night. they had a stock sellout again this year. coincidence?

I am healthy as a horse. Which is a real luck since I remember being really stupid and going out to the cold rain in a thin t-shirt several times at night. I was expecting at least a slight pneumonia.
Considering the food, the stands were a kind of expensive so I bought all my cheap dry nourishment in a local store, so fortunately no food poisoning here.

Almost everybody in the Polish group got sick (I'd say about 15 people). I have fever and sore throat which killed me at work for the last two days.

Parties seem like big time occasion for spreading germs. Two years ago, at Symphony, over half of participants got heavy diarrhoea. The 'scheisse' catchword would have been very appropriate back then ;).

My brain is totally fried, but that's my own fault for staying up from saturday 12:00 to monday morning 5:00 and drinking at the same time. The trip home was very long and tirering too.

Next years BP theme: Cleaning ladies of the scene.
I'm fairly sure that the combination of the cold outside and the heat inside from the computers etc were just the perfect incubator for flu viruses.

Not that I remembered this BEFORE the party, but wasn't there some discussion of maybe having some form of stand with fruits/vegetables where we could actually eat something that was slightly more healthy? I know, I should have bought more fruit and such when I went to the supermarket but instead we (I) bought wine and cheese. So basically I'm saying I need help eating more sensibly during parties (:

I mean hell just a stand that sold bananas would rule. I was somewhat scared my legs would severly cramp up (we call them 'Charlie Horses' in the states; they HURT and SUCK and I've been getting them too much lately when I go out and drink way too heaviliy) so I bought a bunch; they do help cuz of the potassium.

Obviously the best idea is for us sceners to take care of ourselves and not make things worse, but... well we probably kill a bunch of the bacteria with alchohol and then the sudden change to not having alchohol results in us being extra sick.

I dunno. I just don't want to be sick anymore cuz I can't even sleep now and this sucks and all I want to do is complain and I want my mommy.
Truck: fear not for Evoke will heal you with free fruit at ze infodesk ... well, not now of course

Mabye the toilets and showers were a problem. Especially the toilets if there are not enough for all people and some don't wash their hands, so you have it all on the doorknobs - and everyone touches them.

Hm. Weren't the toilets and showers cleaned every day at one time?

I arrived with a cough, and left with just a minor cold, so not too bad really.

I mostly ate chips (pommes-frites) and kebabs only. I did have one of those pancakes too.

I didn't use the scary toilet nor ate any of the food at the party place. I'm a good boy and always wash my hands with soap (except for one time when there was something strange in it, like red and acrid in smell, what the hell?). Every time you abuse alcohol, magnesium pills should be your friend so you don't get cramps and muscle shaking. But, come on, throat inflammation doesn't come from boozing and, anyway, I didn't drink much this year.

Let's face it. We were attacked by ze deadly Germ(an)s!

I had three pizza slices in the big sale, felt completely pooped going home, had a minor eh.. 'liquid excrement' problem and that was it.

I guess i'm built like a horse! woop!

I didn`t leave the party hall except for getting pizza or currywurst.
(Due to the damn weather and fearing to get sick because of the temperature differences in and outside...)
Luckily I got away healthy this time....also no food poisoning.^^
But I was sick after several other parties back in the days...flue after Ambience 2001 and TUM 2003, stomach problems after The Party 2000 but I`m not sure wether it was the food there or the party sucked that hard. ;O)
I hope all people which got sick at BP will get well again soon!

I didn't even try to attend the real party which was outside so I guess I was pretty fine but tired when I came back at home, hopefully my girlfriend took care of me quite a lil bit.
I guess that being a veggiefag helps me a lot during parties...
I also brought some paracetamol which hep me each "morning" to wake up quite easily.
i got flu, while moving in the bus, back home. also, my mood was totally spoiled, after 4-5 young bastards beat me down at night street of my hometown right in the day we arrive. its a dark russia - welcome home. good, i have only little physical injury - my gf saved us, starting to scream and strike those guys with our sleeping bag, so someone noticed all this, making bastards runaway.

Sorry guys - I was really sick last Monday and no better by Friday. With the application of lots of cold/flu remedies, a liberal quantity of cheap Breakpoint beer and a three-day Turtles-style diet of pepperoni pizza, I was pretty much cured by the end of the weekend.

So you've all spread syphus-branded PartyPlague™ around Europe, thus relieving me of it - cheers!
