Leaving the scene

category: general [glöplog]
Hey everyone

Lately I've lost any interest in demoscene at all. It's been some fun during some years, but I haven't been that productive. I didn't made a lot of demos. And lately I didn't even watched new demo.
I guess it's like every interest, it's good during some time and then...
I now have another things to focus on, and I have no time to spend in demo anymore. And demoscene is just no more appealing me. So, have fun, may demoscene still create interesting things (if it ever did). See ya in another life.

Tuo, I bet one of the two things is happening in your life: Money - women. Perhaps even both. In any case, the scene is better than both, more rewarding, less frustrating and disappointing.

You *will* be back. You can count on that. And we will always be here to welcome you back. In a way money and women can *never* do.

Be cool, be well! :-)

Oh yes, you will come back! :) I know sceners who declared themselfs as retired but came back in action after years!

My friend Antitec feels a little inactive with the sleepy CPC scene these days, he is officially inactive, his CPC is not plugged in, he doesn't even log that much on the net these days,.. but unofficially he still learns news from the web and me, and one some little motivation is capable of waking him up and start working for something out of nothing..

So,. you can be officially retired/inactive, but this doesn't mean that you have quitted for ever... or not? ;)

Just leave him alone, guys. Everything has an ending.
Thats IS true. Tuo, I think your life is going to have clearly a better taste if you do really quit the scene. Good luck for the next, it's a new beginning for you !
It can even be the "real" start...
Cheers!

Some facts about me..
Joined the scene in 1992..
Produced some thingz..
Thought a couple of times to quit..
Did it once..
Came back after 2 years..
Still active..

Scene is like a drug.. once a junkie.. always a junkie..

You'll come back you'll see.
and if you don't.. enjoy whatever you do.

Cheers

Hmm yes. It's easier when you're young and you have time. There are alot of people who were really active in their teens but have nowadays a job, girlfriend and perhaps even a family.

Still out of these some stay active while others fade away. I'd just know if I the only things in my life would be going to work and coming back home and doing this over and over again. Hmm, that would be just too normal.

Keep partying, dudes!

(Though I hope when I'll be 30 I won't be sitting outside a small school which is claimed to be a party place drinking warm beer in cold weather with the same guys I've done it for past five years on various locations... :)

Thanks for you reactions, but be sure I won't come back. I already left the demoscene once, and then came back. But now I really can't get interest in demo at all.
I now have new priorities, many things to do, and so few time left to make them...
Many friends of mine left demoscene, and now I barely know some people around. My life has taken a new direction now, and, yes, that involves some girl stories. Well, I'm getting older, and thus I'm searching for new things. And I'm just feeling that living my life may be way much harder than making demos...

melw, small school may turn to a big club, beer may get colder and the weather may get hotter, but the guys will stay the same, that's for sure.. 8)

The future of the demosceners IS NOT demoscene, but having their own life. How many sceners aged of 25~28 years-old are still active in the demoscene ??
We'll have a look on your commercial products, we trust in you my friend! :))

good luck in the so hard real life Tuo :)

demoscene is not for losing time like TV, it's a culture, a way of life, if you think like a scener, you will act in real life like a scener, creativity will win and dont care about the years old, stay a child for the life will do the life more easy to live and if you dont becomes a so stupid adult your imagination will continue to work well :)

perhaps you dont return in demoscene, but when you will be a grandfather, you will can be proud to had given some emotions to others sceners by your computer science and creativity :)
Good luck. I was activ in scene from '89 to '93, and now i'm back working on a new project. You see : Once A Scener - Forever A Scener! :)

Thx everyone.

I really don't feel like you all for the demoscene. For me it's just... well, something empty, but terribly proud of it.
Anyway, I don't understand demoscene anymore, and I need all my attention on my real life, otherwise I won't understand it as well. It's been kinda crappy lately.

Well... Tuo, i think you're really sad about the demoscene.... but do you remember when you put out VIP 2
with the other popsy team members ??? it's not a good think ??? anyways, good luck.

Wow i have to read Pouet's BBS to know one of my teammates leaves the scene :)

Eheh well Tuo you talked about it a few monthes ago, now it's official, have fun, just give some news from time to time. And NO demoscene is not a drug, just a hobby for people who has nothing better to do (i am one of these unfortunately). So this is a good news ;)

Bye.

In fact this thread is funny, after reading it once again, it makes me think of a guy announcing he's going to escape prison, and the other guys looking at him and saying "good luck" to him :))

Strange.

Lol! It depends on how do you define "prison" ;)
I could think that life is a prison and demoscene a playground we look from our windows or something, but someone could thing the opposite too...

Anyway,. it doesn't matter. Good look tuo wherever you are :)
