sql injection isnt that hard to learn about and exploit. it really is a matter of writting a couple scripts to hammer it till you crack it. few months of experience or access to a decent pen test tool developed for it would do the trick.

i guess they have a pretty strong botnet to cover their tracks. just wonder why no one on the media is mentioning it. but then again i havent been checking security forums for any info on that, just checking the stories on the "mainstream" media.

Short version: The label anonymous/anonops/lulzsec is creative commons. If you wanna use it for whatever reason, you do ... if you don't, you don't. There's nothing like a predefined shape of your protest, membership, control instance or personal fame, making it a very interesting phenomenom.

Seems that's not true for them: http://twitter.com/#!/LulzSec/status/83172089711964161

Man, this script kid war thing is so nostalgic... I remember the old days of IRC when everyone was ddos'ing everybody, composing raps, etc... It was a real ghetto! Anyway, it led to the end of irc.brasnet.org.

ps: because i have to sweep away the curtains of indoctrination of your minds, and let the truths shine into your hearts.
So you are god! I was wondering all the time, but now it's clear!

Yeah, the arrested guy seems a bit 'curious'. He's been charged with various DDoS/hacking charges, all except one are unrelated to lulzsec. The one with the lulzsec connection is the ddos attack on the uk SOCA site, which lulzsec took credit for.

Lulzsec are still denying that he's part of the group, but suggested that the SOCA site went down again after they'd stopped their attack, so maybe he was also DDoSing the site. A bit of a coincidence if it's true!

I've seen some people who seem to know the guy saying he wasn't working with them, but was running DDoS attacks and IRC servers (including the one where they had a channel), so presumably he was aware of what they were doing and had the capability to join in on his own. So maybe it's true, and he's not a member.

Fascinating story to follow, this is :) They're promising a big data leak on friday, so I guess that is next (assuming no more arrests / hacks / whatever first!)

This guy (Ryan Cleary) was an ircop from AnonOps, he had one of the irc servers and two domains, but one day (like two months ago) he got mad (*) and collected many passwords from nickserv and ips of anons, then he pointed his domains to a google site with all this info and some logs. A truly faggot :P
He also is the admin of the new Encyclopedia Dramatica.
What I know is that Lulzsec was just using his new irc server, but he is not a member of the team.
imo ryan deserves to be in jail or do some community service (btw, he also needs psychiatric help).

(*) actually he always was a troll.

Some people say it was anon that provided the info about who he was, to get revenge for that.

They just released a bunch of documents from arizona state police btw. Again, going *rather too far* by including home addresses, and names of police officer's wives.

I still like how this whole LulzSec-debacle seems to be based on mutual backstabbing/mistrust and how these "elite hackers" would probably sell each other out for a pack of cigarettes. See, this is why Kevin Mitnick is the most well-known hacker of all time - he understood humans much better than computers.
