Anarchy in The EU

category: offtopic [glöplog]
i'd like to see the mentioned videos of police and rioters co-operating. so if aMusic is right about police and rioters working together, does that mean uk riots are staged, too, on a massive scale? seeing the eu dumping the euro on purpose [citation needed], this seems to be englands way to sincerely fuck things up, maybe destabilizing the currency by running a good bunch of local shops, homes and cars in the ground. all in all this is the perfect opening to the next stage in the big brother process, just like anonomys is for the internet, which would defacto make it terrorism, enforcing reign by scare tactics and destruction of peoples values. it's what the reichschristalnacht must have been like. oh sh ... godwin's law. better go and make a demo about it.

@button, i think more then a few dozent were participating, seeing it was spread over half of london and occuring in a few cities. i wonder how much looters, rioters and thugs we are speaking here, how much started it and how much just followed.

It sounds as tho the riots were more just the first and maybe second nights, after that it seems to be just opportunistic theft, looting and mayhem rather than in protest to Mark Duggan's death..
As the blog posted earlier said (but got a lot of things wrong imo) - kids with not much to lose who want a new tv.

Some violent drug dealer pulls a gun on the police and they shoot back and kill the fucker. So far so good. Then a bunch of degenerates blow a fuse over justice served, some 16 year old girl gets a beating for throwing rocks at the coppers who took offense at her potentially fatal choice of actions and shit blew up.

this is the sequence of events as I have had them presented. Demonstration is meant to be a powerful statement, but assholes like the ones on the street makes it trivial as does all the fuckers who start "a demo" everytime someone scratch their ass in ways they dont like. It has lost its power because the retard socialist youth has overused it and police are more likely to see it as the beginning of eruptions of violence, rather than a legal and reasonable form of protest, which itself creates problems.

argh, logged in, wrote a text, submited and was told i needed to be logged in to post. ffs, are you shittin me? talk about conspiracy.

@eebliss: the police didnt shoot back, tho, allegedly he was armed, the guy never fired his gun. the recovered bullet was shot from a mp5, a fscking machine pistol.
its too easy to blame this on the stupid youth, overlooking other problems, quite conveniently, to just raise police power and what not. i am not entirely sure the riots are strongly connected the protests, rather started by a well organized group using the spur of the moment. i wonder where the news comes from, saying they used black berries to plan the riots. how would you find out someone on the inside telling you?

You should find the official IPCC report released yesterday - and read it.

vectory: apparently these kids are being directed by "untraceable" tweet-like messages - spread via BlackBerry phones - containing directive commands such as: "tonight, 8pm, X City centre, meet outside X train-station. We plan to burn and loot...FREE TVs and designer cloths!!" An irresistible call-to-arms, if you know the types of kids these signals are directed towards. This system is perfect for organizing the flash mobs seen during these riots and is their main rallying tool. The rioters are consumers of these messages and it would take a very small number of people to publish them. But for some strange reason, the goverment have not taken measures to temporarily prevent these messages being sent (which is entirely possible, both legally and technically). Presumably because they value the Human Rights act and our right to freely organize such events - or something.

The inaction by police is literally unbelievable. They have been filmed standing yards from looters breaking into shops and commiting acts of general destruction. Just standing there, doing absolutely nothing. Residants have been left bewildered as their homes (not far from main firestations) have been left to burn totally to the ground. Cars left burning for hours in the middle of streets (long after the rioters have moved on). Calls to police warning them of congragating groups of rioters simply ignored. All this inaction by both the police and emergency services has, of course, generated scenes of Armageddon and created "nation in crisis" scenario.

The emotive reaction from the general public has not been to demand that the police _simply do their jobs_, it has swung to the extreme where people (to varying degrees) are now litterally begging the government to "bring in the military". People now suddenly want a brutal state, with armed police thugs shooting people in the street - simply to deal with a handful of bored teenagers. They seem to believe that the police are somehow unable to do their jobs because they are restrained by such liberal policies as the Human Rights act (which David Cameroon has been desperately trying to scrap since getting into power) - which is absurd nonesense.

They're not doing their job and they're not halting the organization of these flash riots because, _for some reason_ , they're just not doing it. It's as simple as that and the effect it's having is clear and PREDICTABLE and (to me) almost clichéd.

Meanwhile basebol is becoming a very popular sport in Britain! But aparently people don't really need gloves there.

Someone made a very good point yesterday: After what happened at the G22 thingy where somebody got killed because of the police's heavy handedness, has lead to the police not wanting to get involved with fear of getting their asses raped for doing their job. You can't please everyone all the time. Police can't use brute force because you'll hurt someone and abuse their human rights, no matter what the fuck they do. Now they can't do fuck all because of that reason, now people are crying they want them to be heavy handed, make your fucking minds up people!!!!!!!!
No. If these kids were backed by a solid core of adults with a coherent/formulated reason for their disorderly behaviour (and which they may possibly convey to the media and wider public) they would have been stopped before they even started. Using the more than adequate tactics we already have. If someone accidentally got injured or even killed, then so be it, it has never stopped them in the past. The public would now have the CORRECT opinion that our current (sensible and reasonable) police policies and practices are sufficient for dealing with civil disorder and everyone would be sleeping safe and sound.

The thing is, it's safe for authority to allow these "protesters" to continue their silly little mindless rampage because it has no substance and far from gaining public-support, they are going to push public opinion in favour of whatever measures and policies government can dream-up as being necessary to save us from these hoarding vandals. The benefit to the government is that when the REAL mass protests, backed by adults with real ideas, begin in Britain (which they will), the consent and public opinion and legislation will be there, ready to brutally crush it. They may even have it to the point where it is accepted by the public to mow down protesters with machine guns...who knows. Just a few more days of these kids and a few more burnt buildings and I'd say the dumb British public will accept anything.

But we all sigh a breath of relief today as we see officers giving us a small taste of what we have been skilfully goaded into asking for over the past four days:

the public has to SUBMIT and ask for their own oppression, it's always been easier that way.

People need to stop being pussies and stick up for themselves.

I wanted rubber bullets, teargas AND watercannons from day dot. The kids were using the argument "you have no respect for us, we have no respect for you", so they go and destroy shit. No wonder we don't fucking respect you, because you're workshy lazy useless taxdraining little dipshits who have nothing better on your mind than making life harder for everyone else but yourselves.
I think this guy said it well on that blog posted by ps. Have to say that I totally agree with you 8, all my liberal sensibilities fly out the window on this - hang the thieving, lawless fuckers out to dry!
Silver-lining - as you poms know there is a shitload of cctv around so there is a good chance that at least a percentage of the looters will answer for what they did. ;)

This world is one seriously messed up place.
8-bit: well, the parents of these kids should be forced to flog the scrotes with the buckle end of a belt - live on national TV. that girl demanding "respect" would be amazed just how fast she got the idea of respect then.

but then, that would be a little hypocritical in a country where children are encouraged to phone Child Line if their parents so much as clip them around the ear. where shows designed for these kids constantly feature dirty little scumbags telling their parents to fuck off and even beating them up.

that doesn't mean i want the State thinking they can deal with "civil disobedience" using bullets, or anything which even resembles one. those little cunts are not using guns against the police so it is not required.

I agree 100%.

These riots would've been stopped in a single night in other countries, but the UK leaders are spineless doormats who have been overpowered, outsmarted and held hostage by a bunch of kids.

I just don't understand why the British army is permitted to go to the middle east and shoot to kill individuals who are clearly no threat to us, and yet nothing is done about those who terrorize us on our own doorstep.

Today, people are acting like it's all over and police are trying to take credit, but it's only just started. These past days have proven that people can riot and loot, get lots of free stuff and go crazy, and nobody will stop or punish them for it. That's one hell of an incentive to go looting.
