Don't we already have a voting summary? The Popularity percentage?

that's rational to the number of visits on the page.

The only correct voting system: no voting system.

i think theres room to extend the voting system a little, rules/sucks/pig is fine, but a 'double thumb' or 'classic' or whatever would help separate the best demos from the ones that are just really good. Anything much more than that, and it's going to get messy.

I would like an extra bit to vote for code, gfx, music, and maybe feeling too though, as its too easy to miss an average or crap demo with a seriously great soundtrack or some good artwork. Like mfx's universe pt2, that will never make the charts, and a lot of people will miss out on the great music...

But indeed, backup tapes and a bigger admin team are first priority.

my main (and only) problem with the pigface, is that the 'is ok' meaning doesn't say a lot... there are many productions that I wouldn't say they 'rule', but they are good... aswell, there are also other productions that don't 'suck' per-se, but are not 'ok'... I'd give some use to a 4-rating scheme:

rules (double thumb up), nice/it's ok (thumb up), acceptable (thumb down), sucks horribly (double thumbs down).

I'm fine with the current system though, just thinking about possible improvements :-)

and yes... an admin team comes first :)

Only "competition" in art is against yourself. Too bad that the "officials" of the scene spoke it out for the rest of us.
