I saw that earlier. Dunno, i'm split on things like this. On the one side, it's awesome as hell (parts of that really dropped my jaw). On the other side, it only looks this good on video, in real life you're unlikely to be standing in the exact sweet spot required to make it look just right, and even then the lack of 3D will reduce the impact.

Still, more of this. One day somebody will figure out how to project it so everyone sees it in 3d :)

Get in. Get out. Nobody gets hurt.

Cool video, nice art. But, watching that from close up wouldn't be a good idea, depth perception will quickly reveal that it's just a projection. At a distance of 5 meters depth perception can tell the difference between objects spaced 5 centimeters for most people IIRC.

Projections that are way up (upper floors of a building) are way less affected, at a distance of 50 meters the minimum perceptible distance is already 5 meters. Also more people fit into the sweet spot then.

The guy in the show must really know what he is doing because that robot arm could really crush him or hurt very badly if he doesnt care....

In real life you can't, unless you're sitting on a chair that's being controlled by a robot, just like the camera is in this video.

I don't see anything there that can't be done realtime, and we can certainly track people around in 3d and change the projection to match, so yes you can.

So, yeah, it's feasible, so long as the crowd is no larger than 1 person. ;)
