- Cool idea for 256B intro, but technically (most probably also visually) can be much better. Nice to see you are going to release final version, good luck.
Empty lines are killing the eyes, without them it doesn't look bad.
DOSBox doesn't support p6 instructions (fcomip).

- > Most complex parametric shape
After watching some of latest 256B goodies (Uzel, Do Not, Glenz) I realized IND has never released intro based on such 3D rotating object. It's not very innovative on 256B area, but most similar prods present slow/small/ugly shapes (chaos42g, Trefa, Yew ...), and I didn't want to code another cube or torus. After long hours playing with various objects, combinations, I found that Slippers surface is a fantastic unexplored material. Final intro uses its equations with minimal simplifications.
> Good palette setting
Yep, even Picard needed much more bytes for these colors. At the beginning I was using 64-colors black-blue-white gradient, but while zmora is bitch from hell, it requires hellish lookAndFeel.
> Don't agree with some tradeoffs
From my point of view, at the end I had 9 slacky bytes. I was trying to apply better movement, but tired and unsatisfied with the result I used them for closegraph (4 bytes) and speed optim (5 bytes, dword copying, also ensuring DH=0 for inner density loop counter). But you're right... probably I'm just getting old.

Used in your 256B intros - when have you changed your mind?
> 2 full float constants
3, in fact. On less significant bytes I store ret, size and brightness factors.

- Not so amazing for 4 kilobytes, but nice to see Linux intro, and I really like the (minimal?) atmosphere in it.

I wish he could make 477 byte version in 256 bytes...
Quote:And I guess the 477b version is doable in 256b.
At present, most probably he can do it in 128 bytes. With eyes closed. - rulezadded on the 2010-10-26 20:07:45
