Visualice sure make nice things!
I like this design symbiosis between farb-rausch and haujobb.
And the music is darn nice!

Exceptional work, even if it were a 10mb demo, but for 64k this is utterly astounding!

The harmony between the audios and visuals creates a very entrancing mood.

okay, so fr managed to compress a typical hjb-demo down to 64k. I'm not really impressed. The only reason I'm not thumbing this down, is the excelent music by melwyn.

Timmo, I know you can do better typography than this.

Powerful tools allowing Visu and Melw to squeeze their stuff in 64kb. Awesome shit. Only the "singing" speech sounds a bit out of place...

I don't like the direction Farb-rausch is taking these days, and I have no great love of the generic Haujobbish Haujobb demos...
Shades of .Poemtoahorse here and there, a soundtrack by Melwyn that initially sounded great but just sat there, and way too many lines-coming-from-spikey-objects scenes.
It wasn't horrible, though. Piggy.

"I don't like the direction Farb-rausch is taking these days"
why oh why do some people NEVER read credits and seemingly assume that in a 20-member group one guy is doing all the demos and 19 just twiddle their thumbs?
added on the 2003-11-10 01:26:17 by ryg ryg
beautiful Haujobb/Visualice design on top-notch Farbrausch system, what could demopeople ask in addition ?

this is digital art at its best !

rulez added on the 2003-11-10 01:42:08 by Zest Zest
I'm confused. I wasn't assuming that one guy is doing all the demos... So it didn't have material from wayfinder or ronny or panique... I was speaking based on the fr-03x releases so far.
added on the 2003-11-10 05:02:03 by crusader crusader
There's no longer any point in hiding the truth. Yes, all farbrausch productions have been made by one person: Me.

Because of my extreme modesty I let chaos, kb, ryg, etc. take all credit. However, the charade is obviously over as the general public seems to be waking up.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for deliberately deceiving the demo community these past few years.

P.S. It'd be really helpful if you could deposit $45 000 into my Nigerian bank account.

Oh well, it's good, but not that good. Guess it looked much better on the big-screen (there are some visual glitches there and there which I wouldn't have expected there to be). It doesnt sound like the softsynth is used to the max.

can't really judge it without watching again a few more times, with the volume turned up.

but it's an obvious rules anyway, the music sounds great, visuals were great also, and the content was sweet + plentiful.

only thing missing was some still pics from visualice, but that really would be asking too much from a 64kb :)

visualice, cj7: why is it strange? at least i always thought it's just referring to kimmo's death. (and to the name of the intro)
added on the 2003-11-15 22:28:30 by raymon raymon
raimo: If I remember correctly, it says 'Fr-34 / Hjb-104: "life index"' there. Now wouldn't it be logical to have the name of the intro there instead of just something similar? Note that the real name of the intro isn't mentioned anywhere now ;) (except in the info file and on the party screen).
Are you trying to give visualice the chance to make up an excuse for the error?-)

What can I add with all that was already known as? There are those which are for (it is true that the intro is pretty) and those which are against (visualice style over and over the same : no fun, no originality). It's not the best intro from fr. Sorry but since they work with Visualice, it's getting worst and worst. Thumb down for that:(

You can download the music from here.

Some comments and answers in what comes to the intro soundtrack; This was the first time I used kb's V2 synthesizer to compose music, and most of the time went into learning how to use that thing (I hope kb and Wayfinder didn't lose their nerves on me asking all the time how this and that works :). I also have still no clue how to mix songs with that thing efficiently and the end result can surely sound a bit coarse just out of inexperience. The next one will be better, promise!

Phred, it's actually a 19/4 beat, just mixed to normal 4/4 form.

Fantastic visuals. This time even the music is good (though the drums are too loud). The time signature is other than 4/4, which is revolutionary in scenemusic ;).

A poem done in 3d visuals.
rulez added on the 2003-12-01 17:35:25 by René Madenmann René Madenmann
this must be the most beautiful intro done this year! (or ever). Those visuals and the music really sucked me into the screen.. Bloody complex 3d objects, but still enough order to it to keep it from being messy (like in Fading memories). The poetry even seemed to work. Too visible nearplane clipping is the only bad thing about this intro.

Very nice. Would thumb it up, but it gave me a bluescreen, so piggy it is..

Upon rewatching, I change my original opinion. Sure, it's a lot of spikey stuff that we've been seeing since poemtoahorse, but they do different and cool things with it. And that 19/4 beat continues on throughout the rest of the intro (I didn't notice it before)

any chance of getting this on avi for us non-GForce owners?

k, i thought this was another of these nvidia-only discussions..
anyway, making avis of all fr prods has been on our "we´ll do it when we got time"-list for quite some time now. so better don´t wait for it ;)

fiver2: if you have FRAPS installed, it's basically just a click or two. you have to have a beefy hardware for that tho (mainly a BIG and FAST hdd)

tomaes: i didn't know that, but i wasn't really specifically aiming for them, rather everyone who wants to make an avi out of their stuff, 'cos FRAPS is an excellent tool for that and people don't seem to know about it.

Two of the best scene-groups out there combine to make one of the most esthetically pleasing intros =) Pretty good visuals and track as well.

no coder-porn here. what makes this very outstanding is the great composition of everything: the coloring / texturing is great, the music fits everything, the cuts are fine and I even like the part with the singing.
definitely more than the sum of its parts. watch and learn.

Seems like all the fuckers just concentrate on the not so important aspects of the intro. And may I please say... You have no idea how it feels like. So please just shut the fuck up.

Incredible beautiful... only thing i didnt like was the too fast paced tripled one line scroller... So much style, such a killing score, such a sad story. Very sensitive one, handle with care - ROCKS!

This is my all time Melwyn fave BTW. Many emotions while listening to it. Its just pure aural beauty imo.

Calling classic on this one! I keep coming back to it. The words feel very real. They are connected to life experience and loss of a friend. The clock inevitably ticking down to 0. Beautifully accompagnied by these visuals that one could interpret as cells going through their motions.
