final release of startrekker by bjorn wesen a.k.a. exolon/fairlight.
a curious tracker, i'd say. features include 8 channel mode, fm/am synthesis for generating either realtime sounds or samples, midi support, macro editor...

if i'm not mistaken, startrekker 1.0 (released 14th july '90) was based on noisetracker 2.0 (released 1st july '90) by mahoney & kaktus. quote from exolon: "MIDI: Perhaps the greatest improvement in the soundtracker history! Made by Exolon for the NoiseTracker 2.0 but Mahoney stole my routines some days before."

also, again if i'm not mistaken, later on exolon also made a commercial version of startrekker called "audio sculpture".

I used it a bit, and loved this tracker. The 8 channels weren't sync. Oktalyzer sounded really noizy but was amazing, with a terrible interface but much more visual with the res :)
God, I'm that old

This was the first tracker that I'd use in my old amiga 500.
Lot of fun!

darn... that quote at the top sounds really stupid.. but then again, I was like 16 years old :)

i wonder if anybody ever used those crackpot features like the macro editor and FM synthesis...

anyway thanks for the comments, ol' timers!

Pretty cool, but don't expect your multichannel mods to sound anything like they do in this prog when you play them in your xm-player.
