Explenation: I saw some stuff he did and screamed "hah! I can do that on my GBA!" and then he said "Go on, foo!"

It didn't look like it at all in the end, I got another idea meanwhile :)

Lets face the facts! 4k on GBA is not as easy as PC or Amiga stuff. This small intro includes three effects, a small logo, scrolltext & sound (even if it is annoying). Also don't forget the header which takes away 192 (?) bytes of possible code-space. Three years ago a guy called Costis organized a GBA 4k intro compo. Comparing to the entries three years back most effects were plain sound only, or single effects. This is one of the best GBA 4k intros i have seen yet. Manko i hope you know what you thumbed down, obviously you have no clue about GBA coding and it surly does not deserve a thumb down. If I am wrong please proofe the opposite and show me a better 4k GBA intro than this :)

well, i think gba is easier, as it supports tilemodes, chunkymodes, alpha blending layers and rotating sprites with hardware.

plus its got (it's not that great though) lz77 decompression routine in BIOS ;)

tilemodes or chunkymodes don't make gba any easier platform to program 4k imo. and gba hasn't as much cpu power as pc or amiga does.

This didn't turn me on, but at least, i have seen worse, so no thumb down, a decent product, ..

what i dont like, is that gba has enough limits as i is, so you dont have to make a 4k for it, i have no idea how much to get out of an gba with 4k, just push the damn thing to the limit, and then some...

Aside from better music, what would you like to see next time? I could easely throw some plasma, rasters, vectorballs, starfields, and so on together, but would it be interesting enough?

Or should I do something surprisingly abstract again? ;)

note that "interesting effects" != plasmas,rasters,vectorballs,starfields unless you do something with them that has NOT been done 3562346 times before..
Well, of course those old ones arent interesting, but I think it would be cool to pop them all into a 4k at once, just for the fun of it ;)
Damn, I had also the idea for a 4k GBA intro :)

This is unfortunately very average.
