Forget all your minimalistic experimental bullshit, THIS is as artistic as the scene gets!

The music was a bit too cliched Aphex Twin for my tastes but the demo is awesome!

- There seems to be problems with z-buffer on mobile ATI9700. Some layers are missing or cropped.

uncle-x: I made some screenshots: http://www.pixtur.de/pub/aether.html
The black areas in the front are not that bad in other resolutions. Maybe it's a bad driver or some weird display-setting of mine. All other productions work fine, though.
added on the 2005-03-30 16:18:47 by pixtur pixtur
pixtur: ummh.. looks nasty. i'd suggest you try other (newer or older) drivers (what version do you have?). We did not encounter any such behaviour on any of the machines we tested the demo with.

nice flow of colours and nice music, but its seems to miss something. the synch in the end-scene was pushing the demo a bit up in the end, but not enough for me to thumb it up. nice idea though.

uncle-x: I have a benq Joybook700. Mobile Radeon9700 AGP / 400mhz/ 64mb
Driver-Version: 6.14.10. Direct-X 9.0c.
I first thought it might be a weird display-settings but reseting to default didn't help. I looks like the z-buffer is messed up / clipped to 4bit.

I will have to watch it on my desktop PC ;-)

no complaints.
it's on the top of my list for various styles mfx has.
it might be worth buying an new pc only for watching this smooth.
rulezadded on the 2005-10-17 19:52:42 by 301 301
really REALLY REALLY smooth and nice visuals! it's too bad that very rarely the different object/scene elements in demos mix together well. iconoclast is another good example of such demo where they do.

the middle part was a bit too static, the best part was the beginning and ending. i didn't really like the music (it was ok but not great), but the visuals created a very coherent and great mood.

Hell is this demo bad. One sucks isn't enough by far. How could this be the best demo in 2005? Sick music, nae stroke that, noise and psychedelic Particels. Has the scene so degenerated ince my active days or has simply taste vanished 8(

No doubts - it’s a great demo from an art, effects, sync and style point of view. Thumb Up! But I can’t really enjoy this demo style – it feels “exhausting“ in some way and there is not really a pleasant anticipation if someone is going to show it again. Do you know the trailer of “The Simpsons Movie” ? – it’s not a sign of real taste – but I like the part with he bunny.

Best soundtrack/Visual combination ever in a demo I think. I remember I did not like this on the big screen at breakpoint. It was just too much for my already melted brain. But NOW! After watching a million times at home and at parties! Must be among my top 5 demos.
