This demo should have been placed higher at Mekka & Symposium imo. Keep up the good work :)

noisy kooma-style attempt. interesting but becomes boring fast.. 8]

Ok. Now let's see what we have here.

This demo combines just about everything i hate.

- Wannabe-funny or wannabe-meaningful texts without any sense (seen before and in fact overused since the early demoscene days)

- Lo-fi overlays of the worst kind (seen before and overused in about every "no, we are not a keyframer, promised" demo since 1995)

- Cheap "i can do industrial too, here, i just have to press the conv button and play with the loop points" soundtrack (heard before and way better in enough MFX/Satori/etc productions)

- Some boring morph vectors and boring keyframed (read: BADLY keyframed) tunnel flights with slow low-poly objects

- Tons of senseless scanned overlay pictures (see screenshot), not even the slightest transition effects apart from "on, off", and an effective way to waste disk space and justify the silly production name with just three lines of code per part...
(seen before, and overused like hell by all those uncreative "design" guys/grrls, and a shame to use after the Doomsday era)

- slightly off music syncing, makes all the timing attempts look quite futile...

And apart from that, it's definitely rip of Metamorf, the general MFX/Kooma style, and i hope Macaw hans't needed more than ten hours for doing the whole thing. Otherwise, it really would be a shame.

No, thumbs definitely down. Even the actuaö ranking at MS was far too high. There were at least 26 better demos in the compo.

i like it though ;)

To kb:

1) there are no fun/meaningfull texts.

2) yes

3) the music was good

4) there are no keyframes

5) on off rocks

6) timings are good on the right machine ;-)

.. besides that this was kinda personal revenge from kb's side so no need to comment on the rest!

oh a little sidenote i just realized: i think this is the first time jelly-vectors have been used in opengl/d3d demo!
dejlig neo-germansk stil!

bare bliv ved med at irritere de idioter, de fortjener det!
God hærget stil, lidt ligesom en tur igennem helvede :)

mac, what's your problem?
added on the 2001-09-20 21:58:01 by jar jar
that static effect is neat, and the whole thing has that kind of feel to it. Still, not a great prod. Gets boring.

I hope it was my system, but the sound is unbearable. Nice sync again. But boring (i didn't even finish watching it, mainly because of the sound)
sucksadded on the 2001-09-21 08:22:02 by mac mac
err, the music is supposed to be like that.
Ok if it's supposed to be like that... i'm just saying i can't bear it ;) don't take it personally :)

Nature v2.0 was dedicated to you ;)

poor music.. boring 3d gfx, unsubstantial scanned images..and coding? the demo runs slow and skippingly... well, it is only my opinion..

for some reason i like this too (probably i'm not too busy "searching" resemblances with other productions or "things i hate" while watching a prod)

At first seen did'nt "told" me much, but at third time becomes somehow likeable, specially the "let's call it" music 8)

I am going to start complaining again! Why is the volume so low? The music rox! Or is it my rig (possible)? Synchro is great, concept works out fine. Also, it's blazing fast. Gfx add up pretty good. 11th place is definately underrated.

macaw: Commenting on your own prod is not a good idea imho. Even if it comes after a long flame started elsewhere :-)

Very underrated demo, super design, cool music, weird ride, some minblows -- flow on !!! Thumb up ! keep it up!

no matter how much kb hates it, i think it is quite nice design, also industrial wise.
the music is weak, yes. but the gfx is neat. one of the better "pure noise" demos around.

Heh, I know that many people here hold a thing or two against macaws comments on pretty much every other demo.. but I have to admit this one rulez.

The music brings back memories of the 20 MeEhNuTz Chipcompo 4-5 years ago on #trax, where on one competition instead of giving a samplepack, we instructed the participants to make a chiptune using only their autoexec.bat and config.sys files as samples.

A well deserved "rulez" here

me seriously very very happy to see this real
rulezadded on the 2002-01-20 09:44:24 by zden zden
the textures in general looked pretty weak, especially that hilariously cheesy 'noise' texture. good synchro work in the beginning, a bit less so in the end. pretty generic but very watcheable overall

weird.
calling the music industrial tho is a bit edgy, especially while knowing groups like Trauma Child Genesis...

+ couple good syncs.
- terrible mastering on the soundtrack
- out of place effects

so, 2 years later, it still sucks :)
