medusa.exe has encountered a problem yada yada.

Radeon 9800 PRO here.

It needs more variation and the music is a nice attempt in doing minimal techno a la Robert Hood.
This one could be much better (a bit rushed prod imo) tho I give it a thumb up coz I'm in a good mood :)

Maybe I did expect something more from MFX, but somehow they did succeed to blind my eyes and after 20 seconds make me put my shaders on. Still I like it and it must be the pain that drives me :)

Looks nice, but would've been nicer with another soundtrack and perhaps some more sideshow-action.

How they can make great looking demos from such seemingly simple stuff? The music was too repetitive for me though...

Is it supposed to exit right after some colored lights appear on the screen?
What I saw was nice, more progression wouldn't have hurt though.

I have to give my thumbs for this one because it just looks too good, but i don't think i will watch it too many times again since it's utterly boring...

Sadly all the new mfx demos show a vertical line from bottom left to top right. And that line actually destroys the pleasure of watching this thing.

Apart from that: Great!

Uncle-X: I suppose i could do that.. I have a Radeon 9800 PRO with the latest Catalyst.. any reason to why it shouldn't work with that combination?
added on the 2006-01-02 11:55:07 by a_lee_n a_lee_n
a_lee_n: dunno, really. but it seems this version of our engine has problems with newer drivers sometimes, it could be that. or your computer is just royally screwed...
added on the 2006-01-02 12:13:17 by uncle-x uncle-x
well it crashes shortly after starting the music
which sounds quite like some Detroit House stuff
by Steve Stoll or Ultrahigh.
config:
Win2k 512MB RAM, Radeon x600 mobility, latest DirectX
added on the 2006-01-02 12:48:15 by d0DgE d0DgE
Uncle-X: I doubt there's anything wrong with my computer, everything else runs just fine. If anything, it's a driver bug, or, as you said, something with your engine.

I get the same problem as dODgE and some other guy further up in the thread.. Crashes right after the demo has loaded and the music keeps playing.

Surely a thumb up worth codingwise... but the music is again ... "hard to get into" ;)
rulezadded on the 2006-01-06 16:20:04 by ltk_tscc ltk_tscc
its the universe part 3 :) pretty cool though I don't liike the square/widescreen switch thing and there is something boring about the placement of the squid on the screen.. I want more in your face squid action.

Lousy screenshot btw, looks like "my first additive blending intro" with lots of colours smudged about. But lets not forget that this prod is still up there with things that are cool :)

not my favourite Demo Watching Style
added on the 2006-01-28 00:03:50 by SaphirJD SaphirJD
good effects, but very boring to watch

although there's nothing really wrong with this demo, it fails to deliver excitement == flashy sync is easy and annoying, music is firm but not sophisticated enough, and all in all it lasted a little longer than my interest
