486 is all you need! and it's really enough to watch some cool demos, including this one, done by Haujobb in 2000. dark and atmospheric soundtrack by Xhale if i recall right might seem odd for an "oldskool" demo, but well the effect show is linked to the sound really well and all in all you even dont notice you are watching this on 486...

Cool, I like the weird music.
However, check out the MFX-remix too :)

This demo is awesome. It's almost just as good looking as the latests 3d accelerated Visualice demos... but in 486!!

Really good optimized code by Droid. Also good music by Xhale. Please make more this stuff :D

dairos, I was intenting to make more 486 demos, but there wasn't much competitions to attend for those. compos shouldn't be needed but sometimes it just inspires when there's one to attend. atleast it's a way to get audience just for a second.

a nice one.. proves that software is still cool, and visualices art is great too.

And...it doesn't run on my 486 machine...
Can't run DOS4GW.exe?
Oh wait...DOS4GW is fine now...
Now I get "couldn't load mesh!"

Nice work...
Since this is a DPMI program, I can rule out turning on EMM386...

How the hell are you supposed to make this run?
Just edit autoexec.bat and remove/put comments on the line with EMM386.
Alternatively, while booting press F8 and select which lines to choose and don't choose EMM386 (Also, if you need XMS memory, only choose DOS=HIGH, DOS=UMB and DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS, at least if these lines are already in your autoexec.bat (or was it in config.sys? Doesn't matter, just press F8 and do it)

That would be config.sys
Really nice

This has everything I love; interesting effects with great colors, nice graphics/graphic overlays, sense of style and pace, and a kickass "idm" track to boot. It's almost like the epitome of good old Dos/Vga design!
