Meduza got an upgrade! Very good.

*insert unrelated and pointless comparison to previous mfx demos here*
i have to watch this a couple of times but from what i saw at the compo this feels a bit too lsd for me. extreme amount of work nevertheless.
added on the 2006-04-17 by Gargaj
Typical mfx-ish style. Nice but why am I not surprised? :)
added on the 2006-04-17 by ltk_tscc
really good demo. i love this style and the graphics. but unfortunately the music is crappy. although thumb up.
added on the 2006-04-17 by masterm
nice work

Thumb up for the visuals, i will ignore the horrible soundtrack ;)

some more unrelated and pointless comparisons to previous mfx demos from me.
some scenes looked quite nice, especially that 'growing' in the end, although i can hardly recognize it.

Nice explosions. I bet we'll see them at simulaatio or stream :)

hohoho!
added on the 2006-04-17 by 4kum4
Fucking incredible!! As beautiful as MFX demos are, I'm not usually entertained by the single looping scenes, but this had some development and direction and was really good to watch!

Definite thumbs up, despite crashing my PC on the stonehenge type scene.

excellent music and visuals! waiting to see the full quality version of it :) (since it was dtv stream)

music and demo did not fit. again one of those noisy bp06 songs that remembered to zeitmaschine fr.
this is an effectoverflow. perhaps sometimes less would have been more. i only give piggy here for a medium overall.

good visual and nice music!!!

I really enjoyed the music even tho it seemed a little flawed in places..
and what can I say about the code/visuals.. my goodness.. =O

After very very long time MFX release a good solid quality demo, not only their usual epileptic crapthing. Modelling and music owns this demo. A true winner.

normally i dont like such music but in this fine piece its fitting, it speeds up your heartbeat. ;)
added on the 2006-04-17 by nobbi
Didn't really appeal to me that much for some reason, and also it crashed when it came to the Stonehenge-part. But nice work anyway
added on the 2006-04-17 by morten
wonderful in many aspects but the music wasnt so good for my taste.

Simply excellent. The best mfx demo I have seen in a long time. And the music is right to the point. It doesn't get any more psychedelic than this :-)
added on the 2006-04-17 by mot
Very well directed and the visuals are most of the time beautiful. The music is not so good, but who cares with such graphics :)
added on the 2006-04-17 by [self-ban]
AWESOME!!! All the trance-goa-rave flyers mixed up in just one demo ;)

A shame that you're still sucking in the typography selection (even just for the loading screen).

However, the prod is great and i love the music.

I loved to get scared

not my partyfav, still a nice demo.
added on the 2006-04-17 by fup
The track is titanic, however the demo is too chaotic. I prefer the stone henge end scene once the pace has slowed. The amount of work and talent shows, just doesn`t appeal to me.
added on the 2006-04-17 by darkus
fuckin' ace! i love you guys in a very non-sexual way (except from you niko. sexx0r me beautiful).
added on the 2006-04-17 by kusma
WOOOW!!! Great psytrance, great visuals and totally great directing! Phat! This is like a real fukkin kewl music video. Much of the experience is that the pace is so fast that you don't ever really get time to see what excatly is going on
added on the 2006-04-17 by good
Must be one of the best MFX demos for me as well! Very cool graphics.

added on the 2006-04-18 by kelsey
Excellent music, but what's displayed on the screen only gets a "meh" from me.
Annoyingly low framerate on most parts, and the explosions didn't look good at all.
added on the 2006-04-18 by lug00ber
Absolutely fantastic! Loved every second.
added on the 2006-04-18 by button
rocks!
Has a great noisy + disturbing taste.
dune wars goes lsd powered...

but, actually the goa music not my cup of tea , and retro-religious-popArt suxxs a lot, almost coder-colors crap...wtf those elephants and shiva paintings has to do with techno..
added on the 2006-04-18 by JaK
The second best MFX release of BP06, losing only to the Uncle-X at the monday morning rave party -video. But nothing could beat that.
added on the 2006-04-18 by break
Couldn't help it but this gives me some Matrix flashbacks. I don't know if that's a good thing but this rules anyway :)
added on the 2006-04-18 by Vulture
JaK, this is GOA stuff, check a bit in google and you will see that everything fits. This is NOT techno.

For some reason I have to watch MFX demos atleast a dozen times before I realize how good they are, but this time I already got it on the 2nd running during the price ceremony... This thing kicks ass! :-)
added on the 2006-04-18 by sparcus
FINALLY the GOA demo! this is so cool I almost wet my pants during the price giving ceremony (I fell asleep during the pc demo compo). I've never seen so much detail and tuning of the effects in a demo before. The monster ship is just so perfectly evil and the weird psychedelic transitions from part to part are mind boggling. I think this will stay as my favourite demo for some time to come :) Absolutely brilliant!
added on the 2006-04-19 by loaderror
Crashes on my computer. Looks great at parts, a lot less great at home than on the screen, very unfinished and I prefer Aether to this by miles. But it still rules.

added on the 2006-04-19 by ryg
the music is absolutely horrible ... not in all parts ... the beginning is quite nice but with approaching time it gets just flat and annoying. Nevertheless this Demo is a huge stack of work. Its technically brilliant allthough i think that there 'd been more possible with that engine. Some scenes are really nice, even some modells. Runs better than expected on moderate hardware.
By far the best Demo in BP06-PCDemo ...

(Very good but no rulez due to THAT Soundtrack)
added on the 2006-04-19 by muh
at the party i just didnt "get" it at all, it was a bit of a sensory overload. watching it at home it made a lot more sense. =)

some lovely scenes in this - the glowing "grass", and the explosions for example.
added on the 2006-04-19 by smash
Music is pure hardcore poetry.
But the whole thing looks a bit too messy and flashy.

Impressive amount of work in a visually mindblowing experience. Every piece in this one fits so perfectly together. Awesome production, and the best in it's genre.

Still goa music and goa themes leave me kinda cold, but that's just me.

added on the 2006-04-21 by wix
this is huge. I still feel again the low-freq of the music spreading in my body during the show while being completely hypnotized by the images. GREAT.

Though it runs but crashes after a while on my now-dead GF4 Ti4600. (on the multi-eyed electro beast).
added on the 2006-04-21 by oxb
I saw there are some neat pics and textures in demo / data folder which was not used in party version demo.

Will you use it in final ?

Good work (and the music is awesome, expecially the noise-ambient twists).

P.S: WTF?! MFX now use evil shaders technology? :)
added on the 2006-04-24 by keops

Undoubtedly this was the best demo in pc compo.
It won not because it is so amazing and breathtaking, but because other demos were not so good. It didn't have real competition.
Nothing fresh and surprising. Ugly music and colors.

epic production. Congratulations !. It feels about 8 minutes, it is around 5.15 ? I would run it again and again, however it just doesn't run on my machine.. (5600.. ).

The very first scene was very stylish but then i was let down by your typical cast of demoshit like spikeywormythingies within tunnels. uh! Some very nice effects (good to see the "light bleed") but the whole thing feels so damn demoish. You can tell that the crew didn't include any French designers :)

i actually wanted to watch it again at home, but my sucky computer (P4 + Radeon 9800 pro) just freezes in the middle of the demo

congrats mfx

it made me fell asleep in the compo. it's nothing i expected of a party winner. but then i saw it again and i grew to like it more and more. this demo is mystic.

it has a consistent visual style - it's psy colors and not ugly colors (Kinga). like, if you never heard about rock music before, you won't get why those guys are painting themselves black.

Oh now that's strange, the crash does not happen in all resolutions. This happened at 1600x1200
added on the 2006-05-04 by _-_-__
I got this crash, but after I forced Anti-aliasing and anisotropic to off in my nvidia driver settings it didn't crash anymore.
I still had to leave to Antialiasing box checked in the demo settings.

great demo, i really dislike the music though
added on the 2006-05-04 by petemobil
well again top notch from the technicaly aspect.
Music went completely opposite to the title (content) IMHO ... deities and trance doesn't fit for me.
In the end isn't it time now to change the colorsheme, finaly ?

Most visuals were great arranged, but the tune ruined all.
added on the 2006-05-05 by d0DgE
i had to watch it several times to make up my opinion.

the visuals are awesome, the psyke-ness really feels nice. the music is too psy for the average demoscener it seems, but too me it's great - better than most stuff thats released in the psytrance-scene today.
in israel they'd shout killllaaargh!

I must say I am very surprised by the comments on the music...It's a great psy-tune which fits in a particular way to the demo. I really enjoyed it during the party (and the gated voice has something really deep and fascinating).
But eh, I won't fight. Just a matter of taste :)

added on the 2006-05-05 by p01
Given the release of the final version which does not crash on my machine, I've given it a couple more views. The demo is simply great. The music track has grown on me a bit and is a part of what makes the whole package. The one thing I noticed.. When watching this demo, it captivates you. After it's over, it's like suddenly waking up from a very funky dream and suddenly the world is present again. I salute MFX for creating such a masterpiece. I'd like to see more, maybe change the music to a little more 'trance-y' sound in a future prod or two.. Deities is a great piece of work. If I could make my thumb up go higher, I would. :)

Too much glow. Way too much glow. Too. Much. Fucking. Glow. Also, crashes at what I'm guessing is about 80% through the demo.
Other than that, well done!

uncle-x It consistently does when I go beyond 640x480 with high antialiasing settings. Granted, that's probably nvidia's fault, but still, the end result looks similar :)

mechanical tenia travel on mediocre music
it contains probably some recycled stuff from Aether
there is perhaps some interesting effects but finally it becomes quickly boring
Aether had a very better direction and athmosphere, pigface for this one

added on the 2006-05-26 by Spin
I like it, it's beautiful and shimmering. If I were to make it I would probably relax the flashing and flickering a little, and the glow thing that makes the colours way too saturated once in a while. Otherwise it's brilliant.
added on the 2006-05-31 by heetach
A good solid production. The blood splatter effect felt like a new thing and the fuzziness made for good ambience. Fades to white a bit too much though.

Thump up for final version.
Amazing experience..
added on the 2006-06-04 by magic
after seeing this every day for a couple of weeks I feel that some of the up to white transitions are a bit too long and that the final tree effect is a bit rough because of the popping/sorting.. strange textures in the data dir compared to what is actually in the demo :) is the middle part of the 'stone henge' scene the ass of the spaceship? such that it grows a tree out of its ass? I kind of like the idea that the ship is some kind of seed, but it probably isn't.
added on the 2006-06-05 by loaderror
Weird, I havent commented this yet. After watched this demo numerous times I have to say it's just brilliant, all effects and syncs are really nice. I spot new things everytime and last time I spotted all three Jesus childs :)

what a trip!!! i can't find the words to describe it!@! even if the thing is 'too busy' from time to time the overall impression is awesome.

the scenes look very complex as if they originate straight from a dream and go "deep". the only boring one is the bananahenge at the end.

the music: i'm a sucker for this shit! fucking speedy trance stuffs!

it's great, need to check again..

The soundtrack is excellent goa track, that just enhances the immensly psychedelic mood here. Insane ammounts of detail and the overrall quality of this demo makes me jsut adore it.
