added on the 2006-09-23 by got
am i supposed to get more than 0.01 fps ?
  added on the 2006-09-23 by
Runs fine directly under WinXP here (maybe 15-20fps)
added on the 2006-09-23 by beavis77
*Extremely* slow on my box (3GHz P4, Radeon 9800, WinXP SP2). Am I missing any trick to have it running faster??....
added on the 2006-09-23 by Knox
indeed it is slow but hey for the sake of 256 bytes :)
added on the 2006-09-23 by Decipher
I'm finding that all you cats with the mad graphics hardware are really getting screwed by the VGA.
added on the 2006-09-23 by Ferris
5-18 fps ( estimated ) here, p4 2.4
good work, nice to see some people are still capable of cute 256bs
added on the 2006-09-23 by apricot
Runs fast enough on my Pentium M 1.5. And looks nice.
added on the 2006-09-23 by xernobyl
added on the 2006-09-23 by mind
Nice, runs ok on my old and dying AMD cpu.
added on the 2006-09-23 by [self-ban]
Run fast here (AMD XP 2200)
nothing fancy
added on the 2006-09-23 by Tigrou
Runs pretty fast on my AMD XP2700+
I don't like it very much. Good job for 256b though.
added on the 2006-09-23 by StingRay
Runs fast (Athlon64 3000+), looks cool!
added on the 2006-09-23 by jua
Centrino 1.5 Ghz, smooth enough & nice.
added on the 2006-09-23 by bdk
Nice one. Unfortunately runs very slow (1 FPS) on a fast hardware.
added on the 2006-09-23 by Lazarus
I've done it - but I don't feel like re-posting a new prod...so here's the link to the realtime version:

ORVHEADI

Have fun; hopefully the interlacing isn't too bad ;)
added on the 2006-09-24 by Ferris
0.5-2fps (p4 2.8ghz) :(
added on the 2006-09-24 by .
20 fps here on my average laptop
added on the 2006-09-24 by Zplex
it seems that the slowness is not caused by the code, rather something patologic that makes it crawl on some machines (and on faster ones!). so, recuding quality is nonsense here.
added on the 2006-09-24 by Optanes
It was never fast here, less than 1 fps, both versions but it still looks really cool. Nice going Jake.
added on the 2006-09-24 by Shockwave
Yup, and starting under dos doesn't help too, still about 1 FPS; seems that this is a hardware problem (P4 2.4GHz, GF6800GT here).
added on the 2006-09-24 by Lazarus
runs fine on my laptop
added on the 2006-09-24 by SAR
Glad those of you who enjoyed it did...Apologies to you dudes who couldn't run it well. I'll bring faster code to the table next time tho, don't worry ;) .
added on the 2006-09-24 by Ferris
I really do believe it's the VGA that's killing the new cards here.
added on the 2006-09-25 by Ferris
awesome
added on the 2006-09-25 by gaiaSword
thanks :D

P4 3GHz + GeForce 6600 + WinXP + new Forceware = slideshow. But when I run it in pure DOS - yes, I have FAT16 partitions with MS-DOS 6.22 environment - like nice movie!
added on the 2006-10-23 by Pirx
Beautiful slide-show!
added on the 2006-12-12 by lordKelvin
*requests Win32 version*
added on the 2007-01-05 by ie
Thygrion, addressing via SI is good, but you (and many other hardcoders) should know that writing mem at the beginning of program segment is slow on many machines, that's why people reports 1fps. Simply first load for example 0FA00h to SI and will be ok.

I think same or similar issue with chaos42g and Amoebars.
added on the 2007-04-02 by Pirx
Pirx, didn't change speed here (it was already realtime ;) ), but I'll remember to do that from now on, thanks :)
added on the 2007-04-08 by Ferris
My laptop, 1.83 GHz, WinXP SP2, ATI Mobility Radeon 1600 (or else)... 10-30 FPS

???

Oh, and nice pseudo-mesh in there :)
