i dislike this demo. looks more like a gamedemo, boring 3d scenes with ripped music and bad textures.

This is a sort of 'story demo,' except there is no coherent plotline until the final 1/3rd. Yes, there are ripped musics and textures that don't tile well at all. (Why does ripped music seem so common? There are plenty of scene musicians...)

However, this production has an 'epic' feel to it that I quite like. And it runs speedy too.

probably because there aren't any scene musicians who have a live orchestra at their command :)

anyway fun, retro stuff

something about the texturing gives it a weird look. Still it's really nice to see a storyline demo these days with nice cinematic camera movements. Nice effort.

Textures=lame
music=good, but why didn't they credit the people who wrote it
Story= unusually good!
I'd say NextEmpire is the opposite of FR... all design, no technical amazingness. All in all, pigface.

nextempire? what it has to do with that one?
this 3d was pretty good at the time... now it's very dated, and since there's nothing more to look at, this is pretty much a waste of time.

I had much problems under XP with this one (sound stopped again and again, video output stopped somewhen, couldn't exit it) BUT
+ 3d _story based_ demo
+ interesting
+ full running time (haha, whatever this means :) )

I hope someone will fix this bugs in the near future. :)

great atmosphere and especially great directing.

What bhead said. I remember being impressed by this, now it is just an ugly flyby featuring ripped music from major artists. Some of the artwork's always was a little rough, even by 1998 standards. Nothing interesting.

i watched it a lot back in the days

I liked it back then. It probably is damn ugly right now. Also I liked the music and I always wanted to know where to get more musics from the ripped musician.

I liked this back in the day too. I won't even bother watching it again now though, I can see it being painful :)

First demo for legendary 3Dfx cards discovered by me :),
it has some storyline and quite large amount of 3D graphics,
so thumb up.
