Ummh, yeah there's a bug in the Windows version if you use 1280x1024 resolution so please don't use it for now. I'll fix it in the morning, or something.
added on the 2007-12-29 by waffle
I smell a "breakthrough performance" nomination here. great work, great taste. (but whyyyy is it so slooooow?)

Oh, and wft? Maali did -code-?
added on the 2007-12-29 by kusma
Nice visuals and very fitting music. It also has exactly the right length, should not have been any longer. :) A nice invitation demo.
added on the 2007-12-29 by StingRay
Kusma: Probably some driver problem. Runs smoothly in my machine (1.5GHz, gf6600).

Have to ask Maali to debug it when he comes back from the party.
added on the 2007-12-29 by waffle
really awesome, excellent organic feel.

two things:
- i hate it when glow goes over the widescreen box.
- the music could've used a little help at the lowend.
added on the 2007-12-29 by Gargaj
ok, but boring. pig

you're getting there :)
added on the 2007-12-29 by ps
I really enjoyed this on the stream. Atmosphere and music definitely are definitely there.
added on the 2007-12-29 by Shockwav3
@Waffle: that bug didn't appear until you started nit-picking at my code :P
added on the 2007-12-29 by Ferris
wow, a group consisting of members that are underage... what happens when you are getting older?
added on the 2007-12-29 by chromag
support the youth
added on the 2007-12-29 by chromag
thumb for the effort. could've been a lot shorter for my taste but overall nice
added on the 2007-12-29 by Hopper/SquoQuo
What Gargaj said. And I've always had a weak spot for the organic feel.
added on the 2007-12-29 by kofeiini
Beautiful. Nice music.
added on the 2007-12-29 by ltk_tscc
nice
added on the 2007-12-29 by pasy
You're getting better each time and I really liked this a lot, props that you made something so cool!

Jake, it would be interesting if you did develop a 64kb tool to see what you could do, even though I know you like to hard code everything. You've come a long way in a short time and you still have so much more potential.
added on the 2007-12-29 by Shockwave
:D Always nice to hear from you, Nick :)

Actually I've been working on a demo tool (not 64k but same idea) with shaders and stuff and my plan is to have it output stuff like camera paths and static models and things like overlays while still allowing hardcoding...kind of a "best of both worlds" approach.
added on the 2007-12-29 by Ferris
very cool. keep up the good work!

somehow reminds me of the final fantasy movie :)
added on the 2007-12-29 by gopher
Another nice prod, which works on my shitty gfx card.
Rulez!

I liked it on the stream. Very nice.

Very nice. Looking forward to see more
added on the 2007-12-29 by dairos
Really nice.
added on the 2007-12-29 by Optimouse
What StingRay & jungj said. I personnaly don't like the synth used in the music. Nice overall.
added on the 2007-12-29 by wullon
Woops.
added on the 2007-12-29 by wullon
=)
added on the 2007-12-29 by Ized
Looks quite nice but it's mostly the same scene all the way through. Really boring.

No thumb down though because it certainly doesn't suck.
added on the 2007-12-29 by Flunce
It looks too much like a 64k from 5 years ago. :)
added on the 2007-12-29 by tomaes
Really nice, runs on Linux, low pc requirements...respect
added on the 2007-12-29 by besh
Parts of the music are way too upbeat for the visuals imo, but overall a nice prod.
added on the 2007-12-29 by mic
okayish, but in the void of other productions these times of the year it's still fun to watch.
added on the 2007-12-29 by thec
Smells like teen spirit! Very gogeous stuff!
added on the 2007-12-29 by ghandy
:D
added on the 2007-12-29 by Ferris
Like it alot. (and I disagree with gargaj on glow about caches :) )
added on the 2007-12-29 by pixtur
we cell kick is a lot better imho, but it's still okay for a quickie.
added on the 2007-12-29 by earx
Pixtur: The glow "bled" on purpose because I disagree with Gargaj, too ;)
added on the 2007-12-29 by Ferris
not bad at all.
added on the 2007-12-29 by kaivalya_
The demo was too slowly paced for me, but was totally awesome otherwise.
added on the 2007-12-29 by s_tec
I like it - even with 1280er-bug ... :)
added on the 2007-12-30 by BiTbUsTeR
that's actually fixed, just not uploaded ;)
added on the 2007-12-30 by Ferris
well done :)
added on the 2007-12-30 by Zest
Good one. The last place isn't that bad in this compo's case :)
added on the 2007-12-30 by xernobyl
Should have placed higher...
added on the 2007-12-30 by dixan
Ferris: The bug was fixed already yesterday. The ftp might not be in sync if the bug still exists.

Really nice organic look, but could use a bit more variation. The music could use a bit more punch in the bass department and the portamento in the lead gets a little bit tiresome in the end, but otherwise works nicely nevertheless.

Support for widescreen displays/resolutions would be nice when the whole demo is designed as letterboxed on 4:3...
added on the 2007-12-30 by teel
thanks for the advice teel :)
added on the 2007-12-30 by Ferris
nice
added on the 2007-12-30 by nytrik
The music was dull and uninspired (and badly mixed, as some people have pointed out already), but the rest was decent. Clearly you like MFX though. :)
added on the 2007-12-30 by gloom
a little boring and short
added on the 2007-12-30 by yandexx
nice production, please keep up and don't get upset by the ranking.
added on the 2007-12-30 by dipswitch
I like it.
added on the 2007-12-30 by necronomic0
nice and smooth under my linux box. also i noticed some we cell inspired parts :)
added on the 2007-12-30 by Optanes
very space-y and mfxlike.
added on the 2007-12-31 by praetor_alpha
Seriously ... nice start!
But without absolutely no 2D-Art it really gets boring to see the same scene over and over again. There are neither transitions nor nice shadings that could have enhanced the demo as well.
Anyway nice development regarding this whole demo is just a 1-scene-setup.
So keep it up! Piggy for me.
added on the 2007-12-31 by muh
nice for a first-time production, but a bit boring to me. But here's your thumb :)
added on the 2007-12-31 by substrate
BTW it's not my first prod..just my first demo.
added on the 2008-01-01 by Ferris
thanks for testing demopupu
added on the 2008-01-01 by Maali
it worked great :D I loved using it. But brown is a bad choice for a demotool...you should consider changing that ;)
added on the 2008-01-01 by Ferris
i liked this demo.
style, music are good.
and nice first works.
added on the 2008-01-01 by got
nice to be a single scene, but a bit boring overall
added on the 2008-01-02 by makc
Actually two scenes ;)
added on the 2008-01-02 by Ferris
You know, I'd probably thumb anything this group did purely because of their ages and dedication.

The future of the demoscene is with guys like this, and I think we should all do what we can to support them.
added on the 2008-01-03 by ruairi [rc55]
Thanks rc55 :)

And now you understand our mission!! :D
added on the 2008-01-03 by Ferris
Whoops...didn't mean to thumb my own prod.. :/
added on the 2008-01-03 by Ferris
nice demo, a bit boring in the end but not enough to press esc :)
added on the 2008-01-03 by tobé
A solid demo, perhaps a bit on the slow side but nevertheless cool.
added on the 2008-01-03 by elsewhere
actually i enjoyed this really much. a bit rough on the edges, and the soundtrack wasn't 100% fitting, but cool nevertheless.
added on the 2008-01-03 by uncle-x
boring.
added on the 2008-01-04 by mueslee
Not bad.
added on the 2008-01-05 by antdude
great for a first demo.. but to be honest its quite dull and boring. for next time, bring more content and action. however, keep it up! you're getting there
added on the 2008-01-07 by Duckers
what kusma said. especially about the wtf maali did code?
added on the 2008-01-07 by skrebbel
Would have been OK as an intro.
added on the 2008-01-09 by TS
very cool. it even tells a little story about some sort of cell that gets infected by a virus.
added on the 2008-01-11 by dila
Very nice.

added on the 2008-01-16 by petemobil
NOOO!!!! the little cell died. :(
added on the 2008-01-19 by Rubicante
as a side note, I liked the music.
added on the 2008-01-19 by Rubicante
I enjoys.
added on the 2008-01-23 by Jimage
keep up the effort
  added on the 2008-01-23 by
All I can see is random dates in the upper right corner on a white screen. Points to icons.decadence.fi in the end; but don't see ANY
graphics really. Linux version.
added on the 2008-02-01 by -hangman-
added on the 2008-02-03 by irokos
-hangman-: Would help if you'd give some info about the graphics drivers you are using so that I could inform the driver developers about the problem. Smells like not proprietary drivers.

yeah, what's next? stingray releasing a breakcore musicdisk and little bitchard doing 2d for the next andromeda demo? :D
added on the 2008-02-18 by dÑlezы
Thanks for the Macintosh version :)
added on the 2008-02-18 by evil
Great demo :)
added on the 2008-03-16 by bittin
This has a cool ambiance but needed more variation and content in the gfx effects I think. Solid work though in other areas so I'm thumbin it up. Inspiring work for a first demo. Keep on rockin.
added on the 2008-04-05 by spindle
doesnt give any sound on my intel macbookpro :/
added on the 2008-04-09 by ps
ps: Sorry, can't really fix the problem since somehow again (as always) every mac I tried seemed to work. That'll be an iBook and a MBP. :)
Have to find some stable solution for sound problems that occur with macs randomly and I really hate to put platform specific shit in between.

...Blame Maali for that. :)
added on the 2008-05-04 by waffle
blame it on intel :(
added on the 2008-05-04 by ps

Very nice prod! Loved the concept! You don't see scenarios build into prods any more... Very fast and nicely done. Liked the sinus camera movements too. Great music. Keep up the good work! Thanx for the Mac version!
added on the 2008-05-07 by thanar
ps: I have an intel cpu and works fine on my mbp (os x 10.5.1). maybe I'll iron out the problem of sdl being shit by replacing it. :)
added on the 2008-05-16 by waffle
No sound here either.
added on the 2008-07-12 by kozmik_TRSi
Also I must add the graphics really hurt my eyes, the color schemes seem all wrong.
added on the 2008-07-12 by kozmik_TRSi
kozmik: yeah, it's not anything like rush hour :(

Thumb was missing...nice work! Should've placed much higher!
added on the 2009-08-17 by Stebo
Shit, I thought this was new somehow and wondered why they got the party date as 2008 :D

Pretty good, if a bit cliched demodesign. Could do with proper widescreen support on osx - most macs have a wide display, having a border all the way round when the demo is widescreen doesn't look so good :D
added on the 2009-08-17 by psonice
i actually found that horrible framework code again and told waffle to look into that widescreen thing.. dunno about ferris' horrible fx code if that scales well tho.. (i still wonder how that .exe actually works :P)
added on the 2009-10-03 by Maali
ok music but...
added on the 2009-10-10 by relias abardon
a littlebit meh and it makes me nervous by stuttering the screen!

Maali: When did you told me that? Few years ago? And more importantly: WHAT FRAMEWORK?! Didn't know it had any "framework" besides window initialization and music playback. :)

I don't probably have the code anymore but if I manage to find it some day I'll fix the window to be a real wide screen and not some weird 4:3 design borders.
added on the 2009-10-10 by waffle
Am I late expressing how much I liked this shaderless , yet truly aesthetic demo? I hope it is never too late.
A big thank you for the OS X PPC port.
added on the 2009-11-20 by Hoild
Hoild, sorry to disappoint you. It has two shaders as far as I remember. One for the horizontal and one for the vertical Gaussian pass.
added on the 2009-11-26 by Decipher
Decipher: nope, no shaders!
