My vote went to this one.
The music is awsome.
Even if the intro is very simple, it gave me a good feeling.
I hope someone port it from linux some time.
:)

by far the best intro in the compo.

This intro reminded me that I have to hack into my unbootable linux partition and fix it... :-/

Yep, an intro with mucho style and charm. Loved the music and the animations. Now please do a Windows port before you force me to write LINE for Win32 ;)

i'd like to see a macos port of this before windoze one.
added on the 2002-01-03 00:05:18 by nosfe nosfe
I guess a similar project is already running under the name of "LXrun". Or something.
added on the 2002-01-03 00:10:26 by dixan dixan
ok. so i fucked around with this a bit and got it running in windoze. sort of.
don't have linux, so that was my only chance of seeing it.
crashes somewhere in the middle tho.
loved what i saw up to that point. and thumbs up is also due 216:s fucked up code that i can't figure out <g>.

might be able to hand out a working win32 port soon. possibly. maybe.

there is already a LINE..hehe.
http://line.sourceforge.net/
LINE Is Not An Emulator, just like WINE. :)

ah, and heh the intro rocks...spooky music and distorted rendering, schweet!

It's small, it's weird and it's for linux. I liked it. Especially because I didn't have to update/compile anything to run it :-)

And I have seen that video before...
rulez added on the 2002-01-12 23:47:01 by moT moT
you have seen that video before? Umm, that's quite unlikely :D
added on the 2002-01-13 01:17:53 by dixan dixan
Well, if I am not mistaken, it tool part in a wild compo somewhere... :-)

aha! a 244k file is written to /tmp/sux3 - you bastards! :)
added on the 2002-01-13 07:33:18 by skypher skypher
sorry, i didn't have to figure out how to do 'virtual execve' :)

c/have to/have time to
besides, if you use tmpfs it doesn't even write to hard disk.
added on the 2002-01-13 18:28:51 by 216 216
tmpfile is often used by many demos under win/dos what i know of (tho they are usually in ram)

Tss, 216, the "current" UPX unstable distribution has direct ELF-to-memory depacking, so look it up! :)

You guys might want to check this one out too :

moT, you are mistaken. kupla never took part in any wild-compo. it was made for kettupaivat, which are annual festivals for short-movies, held in helsinki.

added on the 2002-01-14 15:04:56 by nosfe nosfe
ryg, btw, i did, but it looked about as bad as my regular code and it was the well known holiday around winter solstice with other things to do as well :)
and finding clean description how you should load elf is a biaatcsh to do. (i thought even about faking open/close/etc but can you ptrace into syscalls, i dont think so..)
added on the 2002-01-14 15:31:18 by 216 216
By the way, if you think this is way too much in the mood of "super luksus lemmen paketti", you are right. It was supposed to be some sort of third sequel, but at some point 216 decided not to call it just "tiny slux3" :D

Do we really need more winamp-plugins?
...says the man who gave us Squarelight.

nice :)
rulez added on the 2002-02-08 17:49:46 by MooZ MooZ
sagacity: check the sqr(light) page. But this is somewhat the same as my intro since it has the same amount of effects, only difference is the os and the borring music the mfx intro features.
There. It was simply registered as a wild prod. I know perfectly well my memory is worst than floppy disks, but I was sure I had seen it before :-P
added on the 2002-02-08 22:55:01 by moT moT
nah, it's a totally different video.

And also a Windows version is available: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=5243. Have fun :)

Some very nice 'volumetric' fx. Watch it in a dark room and at late night.

An odd mix of stuff that somehow makes sense and radiates a twisted atmosphere.

Good thing ript's port still works. :)
