one looped video filtered, with a kind of cellular automata distortion on top and some sierpinski triangles behind, on top of a xm module consisting of some documentary / propaganda film text

who the fuck has got ppc-linux? :)
added on the 2002-01-13 17:30:32 by droid droid
if you don't have ppc you can always recompile, the source is there
added on the 2002-01-13 17:36:08 by _-_-__ _-_-__
it's a bad thing that these productions are created for the ppc-linux platform. i'd like to see them but porting them to windows just is too much hassle just for watching a production :( maybe you guy s can come up with some fancy solution in the future..
added on the 2002-01-13 18:13:54 by superplek superplek
it would have run a bit slowly at the compo on a 386.. :) but i'm quite positive that it'll recompile on x86-linux without much hassle. no endianness issues there.

Why only Linux? Why not making a good old dos version when you are not interested in making windows stuff? I will never kill my dos partition :)

ohhh, so _that_'s what men and women do after they're married... ;) the graphics in this one didn't do much for me, but I loved the soundtrack.

I think it's great that productions is made for other platforms and architectures! (x86+windows=BOORING)
Keep it up. :)

less ppc/linux crap discussion and more intro based stuff please. does it ruxx or suxx? (couldn't see it yet)
added on the 2002-01-14 13:17:46 by rp rp
10 megabyte intro. yeah.
i would thumb in random direction for not complying with "odd"-standard we've used to follow but hay i don't vote for or against own prods:)

anyway, i'll go now dissin c64 demos that wont work under emulators because i cant see them.

Care to port to Mac OS X so I could watch it too? X is a nicer Unix than Linux anyway ;)
added on the 2002-01-14 16:58:32 by saffron saffron
rp, i would say it doesn't worth to make any effort to watch it.. of the 11 megs, 10megs are taken with the xm which is basically just a wave file playing (beats me why they didn't use mp3) and the video is very very repetitive and without relation to the audio.

"(x86+windows=BOORING)"

yeh. it's so much more fun with demos on obscure platforms that no-one is on, and hence, no-one can watch <g>.
added on the 2002-01-15 01:18:49 by _ _
after organising the altparty, i must say that it IS a lot better with obscure machines that you see only once in a lifetime. fuck, how many of you bastards have seen a VECTREX demo?
that demo had better 2d than ours btw!

mp3z are for lamerz.
added on the 2002-01-15 01:38:30 by nosfe nosfe
"mp3z are for lamerz."

and 22 meg xm:s are "l33t"?. haha.

about the platforms tho. yeh, you're right. that is cool. wish i was there to see the vectrex demo.
added on the 2002-01-15 01:49:40 by _ _
or maybe "had been there". blah.
added on the 2002-01-15 01:51:57 by _ _
nosfe ... hmm then what about using .ogg =) (I meant mp3 in a 'generic' way)
added on the 2002-01-15 02:24:39 by _-_-__ _-_-__
the demo was "coded"/"drawn"/"composed" (from pretty weird material though) somewhat realtime at the partyplace and the audio was originally over 150 megs:)
why on earth you all really need to see it?
added on the 2002-01-15 04:47:50 by 216 216
more importantly nosfe, had anyone even heard of a vectrex before Altparty02? I'd be surpised =)

if mp3 is for 'lamerz' this planet sure sucks, baby. Or my network. Or my computer. Whatever. I'm sure there's a couple of sectors on your HDD that suck as well.

PORT THIS THING SO WE CAN SLEEP =)
added on the 2002-01-15 06:39:32 by Shifter Shifter
shifter, actually there is atleast one another vectrex demo (made by the same guy who did the altparty3(02) demo)

and this demo... i think it's boring.
added on the 2002-01-15 14:42:08 by dodke dodke
maybe we should do a windowzport of this, with the original song that we first intented to use.
added on the 2002-01-15 18:42:57 by nosfe nosfe
i can't believe this has a higher popularity rating than transgression 2.
you people suck.
