that said, you guys are awesome :)

love the story :) Im heading out the demo research facilities! Great visuals!

You should've smoothed those cameramovements a tad, gave a tad edgy feel to the whole thing.

It even froze my computer the second time around :)

The distort effect was over done and got quite annoying after a while, but other than that, I thought this was an excellent demo!

Superb graphics and design, nice physics effects and although the music isn't generally to my tastes it worked very well in the context of the demo. Good stuff!

The demo is really, really nice. I love the feeling it conveys. Even the somewhat cheesy typewriter-stuff works for me. :) The overall ambience reminds me a lot of Couloir 14 (which is a good thing :)

Oh, and a video-version (made by Duckers) is here: 720p AVI/XviD version (approx. 500 MB)

This demo seriously kicks some ass :) As mentioned by Wade, I also think the distortion effect is too present sometimes :P Apart from that, it's awesome :) I really like the "red goo in a bowl"-part, which colourwise is much better now than in the party version :) I also love the cube-screen, showing more of it's potential here in the final than in the party version. Oh, and the pin board is hilarious btw ^_^

Very nice, really liked the idea and general flow. Also the music and sync were great to hear and see. Too bad, that the mentioned frequent screen distortions made it hard to really have a closer look at the scenes and effects. Anyway, this powerful invite makes me being a Norway-prod groupie even more. :)

I got mixed opinions on that one.
The 'camera scanlines' effect is overused in a lot of demos, this is getting generic and boring.
The demo engine looks neat - too neat even, like a HQ commercial game, although most of the textures had the look and feel of a 64k... The music and the theme were simply superb and the mix of them just makes me warm inside.

Thumbs up.

>500 megs for 4 minutes of vidoe is pretty steep IMO

It's in 1280x720 resolution - full 720p. If it was encoded in half res, it would be a hell of a lot less, but I can't really blame Duckers for taking the leap into the world of HD vidcaps. :) Anyway; it's on capped.tv as well.
added on the 2008-11-20 10:27:53 by gloom gloom
Thanks to everyone who complimented the music, both at the party and here.

I've updated my demoscene page with this track, for those who want/need a version in mp3-format and don't want to transcode (the demo version is ogg-encoded, and can be saved to disk from the setup dialog).
A more PA-friendly mixdown in 320kbps is available for anyone who wants it, just ask.

added on the 2008-11-20 10:50:39 by lug00ber lug00ber
Really nice....but the music by lug00ber sounded just generic and movement of the cubes looked awkward a bit....maybe this demo doesnt like slow clocked Dual core's. :)

The music was great and the graphics and effects were very cool too. Somehow they didnt mix for me though. The wonderful, clean shininess of the fluids and cubes didn't match the distortion. Dont get me wrong though, I'm bothering to comment because this is great stuff. My personal favourite is the liquid in the hemisphere. I wish I could see it without distortion.

Aww poor crawlotron taken out of his natural bio technoid environment and put inside a cage like an animal! It is just not humane!

A natural crawlotron requires at least 500 m2 of linearly crawlable habitat in order to grow or develop vigorously.

music is awesome, visuals... aren't.. they're pretty in the screenshots but it doesn't look that good in motion; it all seems a bit jerky, and the effects feel very half-hearted. i'll give it a piggy.

come on ryg, this is a pretty massive piece !
rulezadded on the 2008-12-03 02:20:25 by xyz xyz
I have to agree with ryg. It's massive, but but empty. I've tried to like it but I can't. It feels like a "demo by numbers", made by skilled people..

To the people unable to load the "lorentscube":
The coders are busy reading for their finals for this semester, which may be the cause of a (second) final version not surfacing.
I'm guessing Duckers and friends will reappear with something fixy closer to christmas (after finals).

Thanks for all the compliments on the music :)

i liked music very much, visuals are ok, but nothing special, except that red liquid, which i think has more potential, than presented here. anyway it was quite enjoying ride.

awesome. Good music. The "decipher messages" part with the scroller above the cubes was just perfect. what an incredible idea.. yes. new demo effects with cubes. Übergut :)

Love the tune, and the coding seems to be great - I mean it has liquids, physics and all the shenanigans. However for some reason the visuals come of way nicer than the tune sounds - it somehow fails to click for me.

But as top men worked their asses of, a thumb is all I can give :)
