design/music-wise, this one is not very interesting. but i love the idea of applying small, pixelled textures to those cool models and scaling them up so that the pixels come out real huge :)

rulez! rulez! rulez! rulez! rulez!

Good & wacky chiptune, some nice textures, but somehow very empty.

funny!

proof positive that "oldskool" shouldn't necessarily mean "ugly, boring and lacking of fresh ideas"!

why no synchro or smart transitions?
added on the 2002-03-06 by _-_-__
it's ok

This is no software rendering? What a pity.
added on the 2002-03-06 by mados
one have to love this... handpixeled textures with oversized pixels look lovely ;)

... mais les textes d'overlay ne marchent pas sur ma carte graphique geforce2. :(

MR GLAND IN 3D !!!!!
Well ... hum ... nice happy puppy intro. but like rac^dug said, the texts didn't work on geforce2 (i have a geforce 2mx).
added on the 2002-03-06 by MooZ
I was going to say:

"If this was not so slowly paced and had something to say, it would be a JEWEL!"

But now I'll simply say:

"Fix the damn text in this JEWEL!" :-)

(I ran it on a GF2MX)

Hmm,. from the screenshots it seems so cool and colorfull for beeing software. Accelerated though? I felt one more time after seeing this prod that something that is not software hardly impresses me from coders side... (Except if it had a heavy 3d detail or something)

But it's a cute thing from Jff with chip music as always. It was especially funny for me to see Exocet's graphics applied on 3d objects :)

In the news it says "this is the last intro from Jff". You mean latest? :) This doesn't mean that we are gonna loose you? (last sounded to me that you want produce more, but it was not the right word in there and I was confused.. but you mean latest, ok ;)

Very odd, all I get is a rapidly flashing screen with music :(
added on the 2002-03-07 by Nezbie
This very much reminded me of old Amiga 40K intros. (Which is it's intention, I would guess...) It looks quite nice, but to be honest, there's not much here. A few more sections and I would've given it a thumbs up.

I like to see pixelated textures getting some respect :) Who says more advanced is necessarily better...
To people complaining about it not being software rendered: wtf? :) If I read the nfo and saw it was software rendered, it wouldn't effect my respect for the production or their work. Choose the right tools for the job. If they'd used software rendering for an identical result, they'd have wasted their time. Wait for the next demo to see if they should have put together a reusable software rendering engine, but I don't think it matters here :)
added on the 2002-03-07 by bigcheese
Besides.. we've seen JFF demos with judge miguel coding, which used software before, so it's not like they're not qualified to do software rendering... so if they want to play around with 3D accel, let them go ahead :)

i like this.
it feels like a nice warm summer day which is a nice distraction from the grayish gray outside :)

Sweet. Even works on my linux-box with wine. A bit dull thou.

Sweet!
added on the 2002-03-07 by uncle-x
err, I hate when there are otherwise good looking tunnel effects, but they don't move in any direction...

Anyways, those 3d objects were cute.
added on the 2002-03-08 by dairos
Heh nice one.. although it reminds me Fruitcake by dEUS... a lot!..

No Watermelon on this one.. but a nice icecream =)
added on the 2002-03-08 by aMUSiC
I didn't find it special in any way even though the graphics were cute.
added on the 2002-03-08 by DiamonDie
I can't get enough of these fat pixels... you guys kicks some serious ass! that's without any kind of doubt the most refreshing prod of 2002 until now! but as someone already stated, a bit more sync and transitions wouldn't have hurt... anyway, this thing rocks!
added on the 2002-03-09 by brioche
It's very good, i liked it a lot.

I agree with aMUSiC that it reminds the old dEUS's intro, Fruitcake alot (personally i think fruitcake's music is better than this -sorry). But i liked the style.
added on the 2002-03-10 by BadSector
it sucked, and it didn't work properly, and i didn't laugh or anything... :/
added on the 2002-03-10 by asasel
oh my god. the music made me want to tear my head off and shove sticks of dynamite in the whole. terrible, just terrible. the intro itself was boring and with almost no progression at all. i liked the "slime-thingies-inside-the-cube"-effect, but it could have been polished *alot*... and fading the music by 10 points every other pattern isn't fading. :)
added on the 2002-03-11 by gloom
Thanks for all the feedback ! positive or not :)

It's obvious the design (especially transitions) could have been greatly improved, but, like all JFF releases, the intro was finished in a rush so we did not really have time to work on that... maybe next time :)
