for first, i only could find 1 good tune in this prod. graphics layout were good, it also has an irritating way of handling volume

what I like with this disc is that its not filled only with multichannel gaysounding happy childish chiptunes, (cough cough, rebels...)=)
i like this disk. ;D
rulezadded on the 2002-04-08 09:50:42 by sinny sinny
Hmm, the tunes are nothing like the quality-tunes on rebels prods, they all sound like they were churned out of the same tree. But it is nice to see more chipdisks. The gfx is nice and presentable, but the tunes didn't impressed me, and thats what is important on a chipdisk.
added on the 2002-04-08 11:22:03 by bugsy bugsy
rebels havnt got quality tunes, rebels songs sounds like they are all carverd out from one tree, not this =) well, its a taste thing, I guess you are gay ?
Nice interface, nothing wrong with the songs. But why the "installation" bit? I hate it when my start-menu gets clogged up...
added on the 2002-04-08 12:05:57 by makke makke
very nice musicdisk but why install? a simple exe would be enough....anyway...:)

Why the installer? The logo looks nice.
A quick tunereview coming up:)
Dubmood: cliches, cliches, cliches. Everything sounds cold. Seems like you've only used volumecommands. russian polkatunes could've been funnier, if they'd sounded less crappy. Ok next... Maktone: stupid pannings, and badly tracked, just like Dubmood's stuff. Zalza: a nice one. Clearly the best one in the collection. Warlord: badly tracked crap. Zabutom: decent=) As for the rest, I'm already too depressed to listen to them. Not a sucky, but nothing special.

hempest > yeah .. and if you check results from hype:
"1(168) karatemuffins zalza / rebels"
intresting that dubmod can be so negative against rebels chipmusicians when they contrib with the only good tunes to his disc... well well..

nice try razor :)

We will skip the installer next time. I just thought it was cool.

And, this is not the place to discuss rebels disk. We arent comparing ourself to anybody.
They do cheezier music. On this disk it is more old fashion chiptunes.

Keep on glöpping your thoughts.

nice nice, i'm always HAPPY when i got new chiptunes !
remember, best chiptunes can be found at www.chiptune.com ^.^;
added on the 2002-04-08 15:01:32 by rez rez
dubmood, what's the point in making 4ch tunes if they're xm?

izm, you don't have to defend yourself every time someone doesn't like a razor production.

ghidorah, even old fashion chiptunes can be tracked well.

a nice idea to have an option that "plays mods like protracker would"... too bad warhawk's .mod isn't within the protracker limits so it's fucked up when playing with that option on.

sadly (?), zalza's tune was the only one i liked here. the rest of them were more or less ordinary chiptunes with bad tracking techniques.

nice gfx. didn't find a reason for the installer.

Well done disk.
Nice graphics, and excelent song selection.
Good variety in the music.
Not to mention one of the coolest installers I've ever seen :)

Good job.
Only bug I've noticed is once a song stops playing, if you leave it for a few min, it will play the last pattern again.
rulezadded on the 2002-04-08 19:59:56 by hd hd
heh, hempest show me some of your stuff then so I can diss you totally.

and to be honest, When I was 5 years old I loved the music in thoose TV shows, and the rebels disk1 sound exactly the same. Now I think it sounds just very gay.

yes: smaller size

lator: zalzas kartemuffins = 4chan and not sounding like another gaytune from the rebelsdisc.

I like the music in the rebels disc, exept that they all sound the same. you should have tried some different styles, in this disc we got lots of different styles, in the rebels disc they are all the same happy blippblopp.

And the best song in the disc is Slumguds.
well, not because the size different btw mods and xm are that big that they counts, hehe

I guess im just in a bitchy mood. =( hehe, rebels are good ok I admit it =)
soot homo!!

dubroom: just grow up. I dont care if you'd diss me or not. And it's not my fault you can't compose anything decent. And dont blame Rebels either, blame your parents. That's where your genes came from.
And seriosly; you think (for example) that Nagz, Xerxes and Virt composed same kind of material for Rebels Chipdisk #2? Take that yellow thing out of your ears and eat it.

yes, I'm a grownup.

saying that rebels chipdisk's aren't more varied than this one is just plain bullshit..

sucksadded on the 2002-04-09 17:50:20 by seablue seablue
a very small number of decent tracks. most are pretty horrible actually. chipmusic can be done well, we've all heard that from stuff by wave, radix, loonie, the emissions chipdisks, many other places.. but not this. generally its just bad tracking. unfortunately, chipmusic is something which highlights your technical tracking skill or lack thereof.
zalza's and maybe one or two others stood out as a lot better.

the installer looked pretty nice though (even though its not really necessary) =)

ohyeh. we can really do without the attitude too thankyouverymuch.
sucksadded on the 2002-04-09 18:16:55 by smash smash
oh welll looks as most ppl who post negative stuff can only repeat eachother (gues blaming someone is more leet).
sure rebel-disk is very good and yes maybe the songs are better in one or the other way.....all i can say is TASTE!
if you dont think this is as good as rebeldisk then you dont have to say it sux either cuz it doesnt in my eyes.
sure im from razor and i did the codeing behind this disk...so i wont talk how great the code is and stuff (well maybe dubmood shouldnt talk also)....anyway decide urselfe.

But i c alot of kiddy behavior in here which is just stupid. a bit more constructive cretic is welcome.

...what has the scene bcome if we put so much time in blaming eachother...

(sorry for my bad english...yea i sux ;)
rulezadded on the 2002-04-09 21:56:23 by blkpanther blkpanther
Dubmood, if you hate rebels tunes, why do you let zalza guest on the disc then?.. about the production, the installer was a gay idea, i like the "buy quality software"-bit when its done installing, seems like you didnt even think about before using a "warez"-division installer... the interface is boring nothing new or good ideas. About the tunes i like a few, zabutoms, ghidorahs and zalzas but hey most are the typical chip style, nothing new.

Today parts of this Razordisc was played in Swedens biggest radiochannel P3. (and they even said my name, omg)

I didnt say I didnt like thoose songs in the first rebelsdisk, I just said, there are to many of the same style in one disc, it sux. I didnt say I didnt like gaysounding happy childish chiptunes, why do gaysounding have to be so negative in your eyes? chill

cd: you just disslike me because my political stance scares you.

stop discussin this already. I did never say that this disc was better than the first rbs disk, just that it was in another style. damnit

and btw, GAY means Happy, look it up in a dictionary.
lovely disk :) several good tunes me thinks. i'll be waiting for the next one :D though, i agree with ghidorah, this is not the place to mesure muscles with rebels. that argument is just silly, and pointless.
rulezadded on the 2002-04-11 22:25:07 by arachno arachno
I found two favourite tunes in this disc. Too bad they're both guest-releases (respect to zalza and zabutom). Otherwise, the rest are average and some even below (a coupld of Ghidorah's tunes are the only exceptions).

Dubmood: I could dedicate a whole article just for you, but I'll just leave it with this: Please do me a favour, and cut this crap which is obviously caused by your inferiority-complex. You piss people like me off (I should have written this long time ago).

Oh well..good luck with your next disc. I hope the quality of the chips will be better next time. Keep the chiptune-genre alive, guys!

And yes. I also found the installer very "uncool" and pountless.

bad points: the music(except 3 tunes that are good), the interface(whats with the windows gui buttons?), the installer(why?).

good points: the installer comes with
uninstaller.

Of, relating to, or having a sexual orientation to persons of the same sex.
The transition effects and some of the tunes own me (like 'sweetest sin' and 'els'). But please remove the installer next time.

Installer is the coolest thing about this.
Music is a good selection but interface is lacking (fonts don't always look correct, songs don't automatically play one after the other) but I've never seen the window resizing effects and they are pure genius IMHO.
