To get the obvious pun out of the way: Left me cold.

Also, cut out those lame attempts at nostalgia induction. Doesn't work, looks half-assed and uninspired.

runs perfect fine on my 9800gtx and quadcorio

i gotta agree with thomaes and navis here though, when i seen the c64 i was like, gonna facepalm myself if they show a c64 screen. and sadly, i had to.

totally killed the nice vibe i had going on with the nice scenery and bugs running around, but from there it went nowhere.

so, piggy.

This demo is a good one, dark with a good contrast between the world and the effects. The C64 screen pop up is really strange and disturb but it's a nice and dynamic demo.

I like it, very nice music and good graphics. And the obvious crowdpleasing wasn't that bad either except for the blue c64 screen which really totally doesn't fit and should have been left out. Other than that a very enjoyable demo for me.

i saw the demo on the big screen. first i thought the soundtrack was still ugly, but was not. at home i tested soundtrack, and it was very well mixed. i think the atmosphere of the demo was killed cause of the compo audio guys... i think they did bass+ 10 and also a lot of hardwareCompression for the demos before.
the scenes are nice, but a little boring, and there are some technical problems maybe of the drivers.
i still not know why there are so much thumb downs for that? piggy would be fair, design is also ok. music is top, and thumb up for farbrausch&rebels experiment.

_docd: In general I don't like to thumb down productions and this is the first Farbrausch demo that I give a thumb down in 10 years. Whenever I do so I try to justify it by pointing out the problem IMHO. I think this works better for the group in question than a half baked pat on the back.

I also don't believe in quantity first, quality second (in general). Nobody has a contract to deliver a production at assembly or revision or any other party. Also, in this forum, everyone has an opinion: from the seasoned producer to the 1 glop guy.

In genera; FR releases have diffrent quality/styles many different people behind it and FR has cooperated with alot of groups (thus the difrent quaity/styles)

Mostly above average tovery good sometimes even a legendary release..

who cares its just the concept of the group

although ASD has released some prods which are definately not ASD quality but fits in the perception of its maker..

Every release should be truesured.. the demoscene is getting to old the stream of releases are getting less.. Without amongst others Chaos/Navis/Smash the demoscene would loose a huge bit of it's quality.

Therefor: a thumb for this release :)

This feels like you took like 2 minutes to come up with the entire concept and then started producing the whole thing. Which I don't think is a very good workflow, as it produces nothing but stuff which is completely obvious and clichéd. And while you could argue that the same thing applies to "We Have Accidently Borrowed Your Votedisk" (which I just thumbed up) - unlike that demo there's just no fun side to this. And being no fun while playing the retro card doesn't match very well.

some nice scenes and other than others i really like the basic idea of stuff happening in a meadow.

however, there are some points that stop me from really linking it: some very bad textures for the plants, overuse of a lot of elements, the mentioned c64/amiga-cliches and i don't really seem to get the arrangement of everything.

but my main issue is: seriously, why didn't you just use the fantastic track by chromag which has varying moods and also a nice build-up? instead: the flashier but somehow erratic "scooterish" (sorry...) remix. might be a reason why the direction seems to go nowhere...

It's almost like another one of those dark emo demos from visualice. Doesn't even look that nice either; looks like something a competent group could have farted out many years ago. Didn't care for the music either.

I didn't see anything that justified the scary hardware requirements (unlike Magellan), so this new werkkzeug 4 thing needs serious optimization.

So I guess that means I should hate it.

The content of the demo was pretty nice, but didn't like the fact that it is quite heavy concerning the hardware aspect but that's the definition of a demo i guess, stretching the machine to its limits... also gloom is right, plants need a better texture that fits the whole atmosphere... so a thumb up for the content.
