Here's another 4k JS intro. This one is really retro style. If you don't like it, don't ;) Happy new 2013!!

visually not too impressive but ok for 4k i guess.
scroller has lots of text and syncs nicely to the simple but entertaining music.

Very good.

That's pretty cool, skimmed through the code and the way you build that tune is neat, I'd not have thought of that.
Very enjoyable, amazing work! <3

really cool.
The loading bar is a nice touch.
The music is really cool, did you use SoundBox?

I really don't like to see this kind of raw oldschool style on a newschool platform, it seems somehow a bit pointless. But having watched it, it's good. Tons of content for 4k, nicely presented, and some quite nice effects in there.

simple design and tune but smooth and varied, nice code too

Not too shabby for a js 4k. I like the music the most.

Hi all! Thanks for the positive feedback. As you seem to have noticed, this was an attempt at using several different techniques in a single 4k intro (as opposed to putting everything in a single fragment shader, as I've done before), and less time was spent on actual design...

wullon: yes, it's SoundBox. Figure I'll put up the tune source data/url too when I have the opportunity.

Absolutely NOT my cup of tea visually but pretty neat technically for a JS 4k

Quick note: Added the SoundBox original soundtrack and a mobile version of the demo (see [download]).

Pleasant to watch (and nice loading bar), even if the whole is not very original.
But Marcus which packer did you use ?

cb: I used jsexe (some version, running under Wine). Noticed that FF don't like 10514 times getImageData(), but I was too lazy to hack the unpacker (plus it would make me break 4096 bytes = more work).

like it
marcus256: Next time, send me a mail and I'll help out with the unpacker and co.

With which version of FF did the problem occur? Your demo starts quickly and runs fine with my FF.
marcus256: if you use jsexe some credits would be appreciated :)

cb: Sure thing. The credits were there in the scroll-text, but after some rewriting it was lost and I forgot to add it to the nfo etc. Should be fixed now (or soonish). Regarding FF, I tried it in Windows 7 the other day, and it worked like a charm. Must be an issue in FF 17.0.1/Linux, where I originally tested it. I made a quick test and rewrote the unpacker to do getImageData() only once, and then it was just as quick as you'd expect it to be.

p01: Thanks. This was during the holidays, and I was a bit too tired to care about it anymore.
