Hello, this is Virtual Dreams calling. We just wanted you to know that we 0wn the 40k intro. You may now return to dropping your jaw on the floor. Thank you for your support.
crazy, never got the whole thing to run on my old amiga500, because it crashed after about a half minute, but it works in winuae .. !nonetheless, neat stuff

The zooming keftales (not sure it's the correct word) look ace, but some effects are buggy on my A1200 :(

"Old".. Heh. Anyway, it's a great intro. The chaoszoomer had already amazed us in Dweezil's Bananamen, but this is still cool stuff. And the music rocks :)

One of the best intros by VD : they made only quality.
Where are they now ?
Only VD PC demo, one of the main demo force on the Amiga.
This intro is a masterpiece, badly coded but a masterpiece :
code is fast and small, music is great, design is really good.

VD come back.

I really scratched my head back then.
After some weeks of scratching I managed to do the same effect in AMOS. But very well exectuted and a really great idea.

Some fun trivia.. The sources for this were spread around the scene at one point. After that a horde of ugly intros (mostly Polish for some reason) blatantly re-using the code were released. Have fun spotting them :)

If I had not already - slightly frustrated and resigned - stopped my
modest coding attempts before, this "intro" could have been the
trigger to do so. Superb effects and only 40k. This is an assault. Nice
work.
By the by, a very interesting image in the roto-zoomer. Would like to
know the background story / intention that led the choice of that motif.

and always remember:

It's a repaint of "Mermaid and Triton" by Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell. Pretty sure the story/intention was "it's the early 90s Amiga scene and every demo and gfx compo must feature at least one Boris repaint" :P

Is this alculation of samples?

I guess in the YT capture the visual flaws in the rotozoomer etc. are emulation related.

Yes.

Nope, just how the overlaid plasma & rotator work. That linked capture is dogshit quality in general though.

I used to love this intro but forgot the name, finally I found it again and ran it on the real thing. The fractal parts are awesome, wish I know a bit of the coding tech behind them.
