This seems to be a somewhat rare production coded by Vectrex. Nice graphics and good SIDMON tune make this one quite an enjoyable intro.

There are 2 executables in the archive, one has been fixed by me and the other one is the original exe.

The intro used a commandline parameter for the text displayed in the middle of the screen (the "PRESENTS DEMO" text in the screenshot) but since that wasn't obvious (without checking the code) and the intro didn't work properly without the correct commandline for obvious reasons I've adapted it to display a standard text that was still hidden in the executable.

If you want to try the original version call it from CLI/SHELL and add the text you want to have displayed as parameter, these MUST be 2 words separated by space and in upper-case.

E.G.: 02_RunningManIntroOrig.exe SUPER DEMO would display the text "SUPER DEMO".

Have fun!

yes, I found this Intro on one of my old disks and supplied it to #amigaexotic, nice you fixed it.
i personally think the logo effect should have also blue background color and not turn to green...

Agreed on the logo effect, green just doesn't fit. I have a feeling it might have been a beta/preview version? Do you have any info if that intro was used anywhere?

i remember it was on a demopack (not by scoopex) one of my contacts sent me, but i never got this intro from ranger or sharktm, could be a preview sharktm sent someone who accidently released it?

The could indeed be possible. My guess is that it was supposed to be used as crack intro, easy to use for the cracker/swapper as the name of the release could be given using the text parameter.

Anyway, nice find, great intro for its day, it still looks good almost a quarter century later.

I may add a modified version later with a blue background for the logo effect. :)

Wow it kick ass! I always loved this kind of screen, I can think of some Sotb remakes. It's fabulous to see there's at least one that do it with Bio Challenge. Thank's for the fixed version! I also think it could be blue, so the logo fade in tiles on the sky...

Do you remember the time?
rulez added on the 2014-07-30 20:21:09 by magic magic
time? since there is Dornbacherstrasse as contact address in the Scroller, i guess it was a 1989 release
added on the 2014-07-30 21:44:59 by elkmoose elkmoose
but since the gfx is from Reward it might be early 1990 ...?
added on the 2014-07-30 21:45:31 by elkmoose elkmoose
The scroller says 1990 which is why I added 1990 as release date. Magic's question wasn't really related to the release date though I guess.

Do you remember the time? The old days? How it was? You were only young once, but you remember forever! ;)

Logo effect is bad, scroller font is nice per se but with certain colours becomes ugly and hard to read against the tiles, music is average at best. Everything else is nice!

I like it and the nice running man animation! Only issue is the scroller which has weird colors.

This intro was released for the Ilyad Prerelease. Which means it was released as early as 1989.
