Fastmem or FakeFast is necessary to make this demo to run, it doesn't matter how much chip you got you still ned fastmem, so you are right Vedder.

This was OK. Seemed to spend too much time on scrollers and the remaining content wasn't particularly engaging.

@Magnus_T: My prod did have the same problem but it was just a couple of sections mistakenly declared as bss_f and data_f instead of bss_p and data_p so it's now fixed. I don't know if that's your case. Do you really need FakeFast for your demo to run?

Yes i know did something awful with this demo, i forced the demo to the fastmem with a "section" instruction which means all of those who only has chip memory in their computers will be excluded to watch this demo, but didn't do it to be mean, i did it because i need to do it and i was lazy to code it system friendly. As long as you start it from the original diskett and don't start it from the WB and have some fast memory, it should work even work on an aga computer without turning off the Cache. Next time i code a demo/intro i won't do nasty coding again. I really appreciate that you try to give me advice. Thanks :D

Of course I'd respect your (artistic or otherwise) freedom not to do so, but I can make it to work here on both A500 (512k+512k) and A600 (2mb chip) if I remove the fastmem bit from the section header (so byte $14 in the executable reads $00 instead of $80, effectively turning your section code_f into section code). Fastmem is preferred by the OS loader anyway, so by making fastmem explicit you are needlessly excluding stock A500+, A600, A1200, later A2000. If I'm not mistaken, the fix is just one bit away. :-)

Hi Bifat!, I guess it's pure luck that you manage to get the demo to run on only chipmem by changing that single bit you are talking about, so the demo itself can can decide if it should load to chip or fast, but i can reveal to you nasty thing with this demo. When the demo starts, it copy it self to fixed address in lower part of the chip memory (the first 512kb of chipmem). Why you manage to get it to work on a 2mb chip computer is that you probably filled up the first 512kb of chip memory with programs or data before you starts it, so the he main code fortunately loads itself above (hex)800000, if it doesn't i will write the code over itself and cause a "guru medidtation"... Bifat i have seen your demos so i know that you are a very talented coder so i know that you know what you are talking about. May i add you on FB? ;)

Hi Magnus, of course you could add me to FB - if I was using FB, or any other social media. Your explanation makes sense, but since your demo doesn't exit, after disabling all interrupts, caches and DMA, you could also copy yourself to somewhere else without risk of a crash by looking if your destination is in front or behind you, and do a (possibly) overlapping copy. Or you could relocate yourself to address $100 or even $0 (which is always in front of you). Everything is allowed that works ;-)

The archive has been updated with a version that does not require any fast mem. Will work on a500+, a600 etc with only chipmem.
