Gargaj: Nice try and he went into the trap. Good job, troll-hunter. ;)
ryg: Well, you are still using scene.org commecial intrests, so giving something back if you make money out of it wouldn't be so strange, or host it yourself yes.

And yes, it surely does deserves its place on scene.org, but that doesnt mean you should use it as link target on your companys website.. I think you know what i mean :-)

stefan, if scene.org dont want them to do that, i'm sure they'll take the liberty to tell them themselves.

(http://www.scene.org/~jeffry/AYB.swf anyone?)

skrebbel,
this is not about law enforcement but about business ethics, wich is acctually very important when a liberal organisation is doing free work.

isn't AYB.swf actually a demo?

stefan, it actually is about you being an ass. i'd like to remind you that kkrieger isn't being sold to anyone and is maybe one of the best demoscene outreach projects for quite a while; it's actually hard to well explain kkrieger without explaining the demoscene.

and, again, i'm sure scene.org will protest if their hosting kkrieger causes them trouble, and i'm sure theprodukkt don't need you to remind them about business ethics.

skrebbel:
What would you say if Mad Onion (or whatever they are called now) puts up the free part of 3D Mark on scene.org servers? It's acctually exactly the same thing. -Exept they dont release it on a demoparty - but they could.

And no, its not about me being a bitch, and Iam quite sure the .theprodukkt guys know they are in a grayzone and somehow i think they would if possible sponsor scene.org anyhow if it really was needed, but it might be a good warning to others less demoscenish people doing the same - or worse, its better to stop things before it gets out of hand so to say, because cleaning up after it has been done would probably rather messy and get alot of people into trouble and catfights for really no reason.

*ahem*.

some updates, because i actually checked it now.

we do not link to scene.org with the kkrieger download. never did on theprodukkt.com actually, atleast not since the html is in a version control system (not sure about the very first version of the page). if we had, then according to our webalizer statistics, kkrieger should have cracked the million download count on scene.org over a year ago. checking the "most downloaded files" on scene.org will quickly convince you that this is not the case.

we do link to .werkkzeug1 and the fr-025 data files on scene.org, which we did only after explicitly asking scene.org whether this was okay, and which resulted in the creation of the "resources/demomaker" directory tree on scene.org.

summary in stefanese: fuck off.

Intresting, you obviously had same thoughts:
"we do link to .werkkzeug1 and the fr-025 data files on scene.org, which we did only after explicitly asking scene.org whether this was okay, and which resulted in the creation of the "resources/demomaker" directory tree on scene.org."

About the download links, I guess i was fooled by the scene.org news posts, but doesnt make much difference with wwerkzuzueuieri being hosted there :)

Still, intresting reactions, I don't really think you understand what iam saying at all, or it's just your nazi mentality showing its true colors :)
