xxx: so, that's two to two and a half months before the 10th of august. that makes it something like the 27th of may to the 10th of june, am i correct? or; something like a month after the announcement of the competing teams? holy moly, that's a little tight, especially when it's so close to other summer parties.. well, at least mfx and their bastard stepchildren will have time to release about a gazillion entries by then ;)

smash/gloom: Since half of the jury members are demo party organizers I guess they'll extend the deadline somehow. ;)
This is the most confusing thread on pouet.

1) Turn in your best demo ever made.
2) Get preselected
3) Get a free PC
4) Make demo
5) Sell PC on eBay
6) Profit.

Z) For a pittance, a company gets better promotion from a self-confessed underground scene than it could ever get from a real think tank for 40 times the price -for starters.

Not if this prevents the best scene groups from competing at scene parties where I personally would prefer to see their releases.

Still nice of Intel to support the scene though, but IMHO it would be nicer if they sponsored competitions at demoparties instead of organizing their own compo.

Once there was a time when demos were released outside parties too... So i really don't see the difference here.
