Funny, I made this list-and-apply-request style of handling edits suggestion years ago. (and I guess it's really the most comfortable way of handling this issue, so please _someone_ finally code it :)).

Oh, and being able to sort the request-list (most wanted, most urgent, show del/change/whatever requests only) should make the whole thing even more useful. :)

"update from" .. now THAT sounds dangerous to do.. PS: LEAVE THE SQLCLIENT! HANDS OFF!!

Seriously, anyone who thinks its cool to write sql querys in a in-production db is fucking stupid.. This goes for select querys aswell btw (unless youre doing some very trivial selects... )

why do i bother... goodbye.

Tomaes: The first time I had this idea was like, 1-2 years ago. Anyway, as said, I'm willing to code it.

Stefan is right, raw queries suck in some cases. There are so many nice SQL-handlers, some native, some written in PHP, they're so much easier and safer to work with, why not use them?

that request-form w. admin/ps notification would be 10-15 lines of perl code :) ( stick that php... )...
raw queries sucked hard in old win32 MySql clent... now they just suck ( not so hard )

and i want stefan back to intro/demo discussion.
what is so f*ckin big difference between >1mb demos and >1b so-called intros ? ( ofcourse they can be ~tro's like cracktros etc but IMO for most of us the word 'demo' itself points to some fat prod w. uncompressed data, some handdrawn textures, mp3 sometimes etc... ). and ofcoure not all the prods represented on pouet could be found on sceneorg ftp...

Sure, you will only need 10-15 lines of perl code.. But it will still take you longer to write than write in any other scripting language ;-)

Mft: An intro has nothing to do with the size of the production, it has to do with how its structured and prestented. An intro is usually used to present some short info for something that will happen (an INTRODUCTION). A demo however, DEMONSTRATES stuff, doesnt matter what... So productions with one part and a scroller for instance is definetly an intro. Dont mess with the creators chosen category, an intro is still an intro no matter what.

However, i wouldnt call the 64KB competition for an intro competition any longer.

stefan, believe i know what word was the origin of "intro"... if you weren't so pedantic you'll surely agree with me. everybody call prod under 100k intro and prod over 1mb demo. let's face it - everything has messed up so you don't see anything special in intros as you can still see some introduction in demos.
added on the 2004-03-30 16:37:06 by apricot apricot
There exist no more intros any longer. With only very few exceptions, but spread among all size cathegories. Current 64ks are demos, not intros. Ask any oldskooler. An intro is something showing one screen with one effect and some text.

Why the fuck does anyhing have to degrade to this naming argument? What i say, is my opinion. And opinion of some other people - however i don't force it on the community. But those saying Pouet should be changed, do!

Mft: as the lamer you obviously are you might have a problem with my view of what an intro are.. But saying "everybody" calls a prod under 100k an intro and over 1 MB a demo is so wrong you should be kicked in the nuts. Since if you reproduce, we will have like.. More of yous.. Horrible thought.

fuckoff, you still label prods as i said when you add them to pouet, so stfu. :) anyway my only mistake was starting conversation w you :) <meta type=ignore_stefan_comments value=on>

2eye : ofcourse i understand that they are demos but they are called intros... i am right.

mft: Sorry, but i only pick the intro category since it has a cuter avatar.

And no, youre not right in anything, and attributes without apos or quotation marks is just bad. You are bad, you are wrong, you are stupid and i pee on your mother.. And so on.

kusma: that's the "no such prod" error message of pouet :)

gargaj: ?
anyway, for finding random unnoticed demos/intros/whatever, i recommend the link

(of course, you can substitute any integer big enough instead of 56718 :)

hi,

updates:

Immortals group name changes to 'Immortals / IMR' (this is transitional, at some point we'll wipe out the Immortals :-)
gruop's web-site is at : http://ohad.visual-i.com/imr-demos/

---------

Peaces demo :
2'nd group who worked on this demo -> Flood (they are registered here at pouet).

Comments for demo:

Code: Silvatar, Diffuse, Kombat
Music: Gemini
2D-Art: Falcor, Kedux

No 3D-Models (everything is code-generated), no Textures (by artists), no time (2 weeks), no design (really hard to notice :-), lost of fun.

----

thanks for the help
