4klang for Workgroups \o/
btw, here's a relatively easy to implement, yet really usability-enhancing suggestion for the VSTi:
When loading an existing song, you always have to first load the associated patch files into 4klang. This is pretty tiresome, and luckily there's a possible way around that.
Some hosts (including OpenMPT) support the audioMasterGetChunkFile VST opcode for retrieving the path to the "project file". When the 4klang VSTi is being initalized, it should call this opcode and retrieve the project file name and replace its file extension by 4kp (e.g. "C:\test.mptm" -> "C:\test.4kp") and then try loading the patch files from that path. If the host does not support this opcode (returns 0) or if it returns an empty path (e.g. in an unsaved project), simply do nothing.

Or even better (but more work), implement effGetChunk / effSetChunk to store the performance data in the project file. :)
Those are actually very good suggestions.
Ill give it a shot soon :)

Virgill: thanks for sharing those, looking forward to try

Its kind of sad to see that sharing doesn't seem to be the strong suit of 4klang sound designers :(
Why don't I ? Simple :( I am not able to create instruments with that synth and so I was really looking forward to be able to find something new here. Thanks again to Virgill for sharing his creations so freely. It is very much appreciated.

For those who are curious how the overblown flute was done,
here are the 4klang patches and the renoise project file of my 4k Intro "Rhodium".
Yes, physical modeling (sort of) is also possible with gophers nice synth <3

If someone were to create some kind of website dedicated to sharing instrument definitions for various 4k synths, would that be of interest to anyone? Wouldn't have to be overly complicated to work and make it easier for people to start doing music for size restricted entries.

I would, if I could code :-) .. There´s https://in4k.github.io/ , maybe there´s also space for instrument definitions.. ?

Doing a whole website for that seems a bit overcomplicated for me, it would probably be easier if people just continued posting there stuff here, and then it could be included in the 4klang download package. It already comes with presets, but the more the merrier!
(same goes for other synths, naturally)
created this to collect 4klang assets and link them on in4k, if anyone wants to contribute either do a pull request, send me an email with the stuff or give me your github id so i can add you to the group

so, how do I run 4Klang on macOSX, please?
added on the 2017-07-19 20:41:09 by distance distance
uhm, I think its possible to play 4klang tracks on macOSX, but there´s no port of the vsti.

i should really give 4klang a try once

yeah Virgill that's probably just some PC muso doing their tunage and then leaving it there for the osx peeps to run it with.
