category: general [glöplog]
I think a fair description is "booklet", but pamphlet? No. :)

Congratulations to you on your success, Rawer.

If you don't have it yet you'll be able to buy it at the Ultimate Meeting because I'll bring some with me. 15 Euros which include a donation to scene.org/pouet.net & OJ/Nectarine (when all books are sold ;) ).
Hmm... I wonder if Freax will do this well. It'll be 35 Euros though.

Tomcat, how far away are you from getting enough money to publish this book? I'm anxiously and eagerly awaiting its arrival. :-D

I just got lazy, so I'll simply copypaste my ojuice news item here....

Demoscene Book Web 2.0 released

"The highly successful 'Demoscene: the Art of Real-Time' book finally got the web extension people were asking for. We couldn't include links to online scene resources in the book (y'know, it is hard to update a printed list). Non-scene readers can now use the website as a starting point to find more about the scene. Sink the pink d-boys and girls!"

And..... it's mainly for non-sceners. Pls, hit me with missing essential links (no group pages or similar, just portals and top pages that give the readers more at once. Thnx).

c u near the campfire!

It would be nice to have one "different" demo/intro in the recommended-section. The ones that are listed are all great, but sort of similar.. it's not just about phong and texture mapping and having fun with nice music, it's also about mindscapes and expression. For example, d796 by Kosmoplovci would show the other side of making demos.

thanks, suggestions are most welcome. i'll try to edit that section after a while.

the idea is to introduce (very) typical styles/techs from each 'era' (oldskool, middleskool, nuskool) for each platform to sync the recommended works with the timeline presented in the book and the web site.

the setting is a bit out of balance now, and yes, it would be nice to have one or more experimental/anti/opposing picks per category too :).

just reiterating - yeah i with agree preacher..
very commendable what you have.. :)
and I don't feel any demo 'scenescape' would be complete without mentioning Kosmoplovci, just because of their aeshetic and approach to demos as expression (which i think its kind of unique).
take a look at the article on http://infovirus.kosmoplovci.net ... which i think gets across what i mean.
cheers :)
