Getting stuff onto Atari 2600 Hardware

category: general [glöplog]

So there is the Supercharger which is pretty much only availbale on US Ebay (normally not shipping overseas), then there was the Cuttle Cart and Cuttle Cart 2 which had a very limited production run and is not sold anymore...

So is there a good way to get stuff running on real A2600 hardware these days? Anyone got something to sell?

I've just used carts bought from Atariage.com and 4k eproms + an eprommer. Works for me(tm). I'd love a Cuttle Cart 2 though.

Never used EPROMS, what hardware/software do I need to program them?

An eprommer + any terminal software that's capable of sending files usually is the ticket. I've just converted the bin-files to Intel Hex-format and then sent them to the eprommer via a null modem cable. Again, this is just the way my eprommer works, I cannot vouch for any others, I'm not all that hw-savvy person myself.

I've programmed atari 2600 carts both with promenade programmer for the c64, and some programmer for pc which I bought on ebay, I think it was a willem. It connected to the parallell port and used a windows program that was bundled with it. If you use eproms you will also need an uv eraser to erase them.
