crest was always a big supporter of our project, and it is very sad to think I cannot email him ever again. :-(

That's really sad news :( I met crest in 2001 on my way to mekka symposium. It was my first time in Germany and we'd arranged to travel together to the party. Kindly he met me at the airport and let me stayed at his home that night. We watched demos and he showed me some of his dvd collection (I remember he liked jean michel jarre). We travelled together to MS2001 (one of my favourite demo parties) where he did one of his famous demoshows. I remember shortly after meeting him at the airport he started talking to me about how depressed he was, and talked about suicide. I'll never understand it. Goodbye Crest. :~(

I tried to post once here, maybe it was too long and it logged me out so I'll keep it short...I knew Michael Menz. We met and did a road trip back in Jan 1996--to las vegas. The next year we met up again in South Florida and went to a couple parks like Universal studios and Busch Gardens. Yeah, Michael wasn't much of a talker...

Below are a couple of pictures from our trip back in 1996.

If I would not be in a scene in which strong company is still relevant and in which not everything is just focused on money I would have chosen suicide long ago; and it would be a relief , because life in our society has already for a long time not been worth living!

Think over this for a few minutes...

Dixan, i noticed that too and pondered about it but i just hope it's not relevant.

As for the RIP: the dead ones don't care about words or compassion,
all in all such tragedy only hurts those who're left behind.

been there? done that? so you know what you are talking about, or just trying to spread your own believe?

Severin: i just believe in what i live(d) and experience(d), as far as i'm concerned we're just part of something we call the universe, we're born, we live and we'll die within it, beyond that i don't know and i have no way to.

Regarding beliefs, everybody is spreading theirs in here too and everywhere when they're trying to send public condolences to death people, you know.

As for that after-life promise, afaik it's just a convenient tool used to make too much people accept too much shit in this world and make their life more miserable than it should be in the hope of a better life beyond death.

Coaxcable how the fuck can you ruin this thread with your sionist bullshit. Got no shame in you? Since when was the hamas anarchists? No respect at all I guess, if its ok to let israeli children write "lovemessages" on bombs used on libaneese civilans its ok to spread your propaganda in a RIP thread. Shit...

I met crest quiet often at parties and events in Berlin. At my first "real" demo party (evoke2002) he was one of the guys who gave me a very friendly welcome. This one evoke, the feeling of getting so easily excepted, tolerated and supported by so many people was actually the reason I am still pretty active.

I must admit that over the years I more and more drifted apart from crest. I couldn't stand his political discussions. And in the end I avoided him completely.

I saw him at evoke but avoided contact. This one thought keeps turning in my head.

Even if I may not have done anything about it, his lost teaches me to never give up on people. Ever.

He talked a lot about suicide, it's strange to think nobody could help him. It's sounds to me like an alarm scream...

silkut: if someone talks about suicide for 6 years, you gradually stop paying attention.

Sad news. I met Crest on Symphony. He was a bit strange, quiet man. But, when he begun his demoshow... well... hope Demoscene gave to his live some bright days.

Yeah, I don't get that either. Since he is from Berlin and never went back, but sparcus reaction to his mail

Quote:
I didn't pay much attention to that last sentence, people say that all the time and he kept uploading videos (he even uploaded some stuff after Evoke),

Implies he used a computer after Evoke..
