The Demoscene Outreach Tour 2007 is nearing its end now. Just boring packing, boring driving, boring waiting, boring flying, more boring waiting and flying and then we get home... and then there is jetlag. :)

Thanks for reading, commenting and supporting (or not, that's fine to :) this little initiative that turned out to be something big.

added on the 2007-11-04 18:55:22 by Zest Zest

It looks like you had a good time - next time do more sightseeing! Half a day?! wtf

Also, nice picture of Jekyll - he´s still the most handsome, albeit lazy, coder alive with a californian fucking suntan.

Smash: according to R. L. Stevenson I should spend some time to improve my image.

Welcome back to the drabness of late fall Europe, guys. Hope you all got those jobs landed, because the weather is starting to suck bigtime over here. ;)

Hyde: Jekyll is the American Dream incarnate. With the shirt and tan to match.

too bad the American Dream has been burnt and dead since the vietnam & iraq wars.

Okay, that's it, I think we all know now how much you despise the American foreign policy, usw... :D Could you just stop the US-bashing and just move on ? I mean, not that you sound "that" stuck in a loop, but you're starting to sound like you're... stuck in a loop.
So please, just do us a favour, choose another way to express your anger and frustration. I don't know, code a demo, or anything constructive. Pretty please.

Zest is French, Americans hate the French and vise versa. Never expect them to get along.

I just love how you put this into perspective : "Americans" with a "s" (plural, like a community of individuals), and "the French" (singular, like "the Borg", a hive-mind).
Pretty accurate, in fact. :D

heh besides the US war policy does the so-called american dream practically mean that some european/asian talented coders/artists are moving to California to be hired by oh-so-cool famous corporations or to start their own start-up... but why abandonning their motherlands when others and specially ex-demosceners have successfully made their own place in the sun without being blinded and captured by the mirage of the bling bling american dream ? IO Interactive, DICE, Remedy, Futuremark, Starbreeze, Crytek, 49games... this list of some famous examples is already meaningful.

ok the silicon valley is great for opportunities and synergies and taxes, but why would/should the US attract the most talented people on the planet ? are their native people too dumb or what ? ;p seriously that's unfair and quite sad, people should be more aware of their responsabilities beyond their own livings.

zest, out of interest are you a teenager living at home with his parents?
added on the 2007-11-05 13:03:32 by smash smash
nope, and this is out-of-topic :p
added on the 2007-11-05 13:05:39 by Zest Zest
Zest, can you go back to the french competition thread for such offtopic ramblings?
added on the 2007-11-05 13:12:33 by _-_-__ _-_-__
to go further for example, state-funded european education and cultural context are said to be better to 'produce' talents, but then those are flying away to the US because of the better economic situation there... isn't it an ethical issue ?

Oh, look who's talking ! :D And what about Sarkozy's policy of recruiting dozens of foreign hi-level students for the French Universities ? :DDDDD "Choosen immigration" ? My ass ! Are the French too dumb or what ? :DDDDDDDD
Zest, please, quit political posturing and start actually coding/drawing/composing.

Zest: spare us your retarded anti-US bullshit here, thanks. And what Knos said.
added on the 2007-11-05 13:17:57 by keops keops
knos: this is so on-topic, and sorry but i'm always puzzled when naive people with blinkers still believe in american dream in 2007.
added on the 2007-11-05 13:18:13 by Zest Zest
could you guys just shut it and get back on topic?
