breakpoint 2008

category: general [glöplog]
well, full versions of vtune/intel c++ etc. = timetrial versions with a different license file/key, so that doesn't say anything really :)

have to see it in the morning... wondering if kusma was also interviewed on the same subject as skrebbel :)

heh, as dixan's subtitlers put it, "... ou à la Assembly et avoir 30 000 personnes dont 100 sceners". why didn't anyone tell me assembly is THAT big?

Well, that's a kind of "party" version of the report, there's some mistakes I'm working out right now (in subtitles, but also in the editing). That's what you get by working 4 days in a row without enough sleeping -_-

So please don't spread it too much. For those reasons and also because this report is not free of rights :/

The final version will be broadcasted again on Nolife on Friday, Saturday an Sunday. Of course it's available only on French TV networks, but hopefully it's going to be posted very, very soon on DTV, with full English translation for all the French babble. That's actually what I'm working on too, we don't really want this fine-but-not-polished version to be posted everywhere.

You can also watch the TV trailer here : http://www.adan.asso.fr/dotclear/index.php/2008/04/14/88-lundi-14-avril-19h30-diffusion-du-reportage-sur-la-breakpoint-avec-la-chaine-nolife
Ok, so it took us some time, but finally thanks to the guys in BreakpointTV we are very happy to present you some pretty hot party videos recorded at Breakpoint 2008. We've got excellent footage of both Xerxes&Romeo Knight's and Reyn Ouwehand's concerts. We've got the full scene.org awards (sorry for some audio issues) for you to watch again. And there is more... the opening ceremony, the fun compo. And finally: Don't miss Okkie interviewing sceners at the party, as it really kicks some serious ass :)

Again big thanks to all involved in BreakpointTV and all other people involved (and sorry to Pasy for the team not getting your name spelled right ;)

(And as we are expecting a hell lots of downloads: Please do not directly link to the files on individual mirrors, but link to the download page so we are able to distribute the traffic. Thanks.)

ps: We've got no exact number due to multiple fuckups in regards of infodesk organizing. We can only guess, and my guess is that the number of visitors hasn't changed from last year. I think the number of visitors is pretty stable.

ahah Okkie's 'entrevues' are priceless!

Hi again,

sorry to be a pain in the ass yet again about the prizes but:

I received by post one of the nvidia quadro cards and it is actually bent a bit over the top of the fan. I'm not saying that the card was originally bent or became during transition, I don't know that.

But lets say: is it possible to ask for a replacement from nvidia ? if so, what would I do ?

a fanless quadro, that's great challenge for you! :D

And there is always "E". "E" is for Evoke.

A = Deadlines for sending the demos so that the jury can select the other 4 (24th of April)
B = When we find out (5th of may)
C = Deadline for sending your NEW demo (30th of june)
D = Voting Deadline (1st of august)
E = award ceremony / Evoke (8th of august)

navis: You got it by post? I don't remember sending out any hardware prizes by post. If it was us sending it by post with the card then getting damaged during transfer we might be able to do something about it - if someone else picked up the card for you, then damaged it before sending it over then there probably isn't much we could do. Besides - the way those cards where packaged they should survive a nuclear war easily.

Contact me with details at scamp@untergrund.net, possibly including pictures of the packaging and card itself, and I'll forward that to Nvidia and see what I can do.

It is not breakpoints fault whatsoever. But I sent you an email explaining the situation. Thanks.

I think next breakpoint MUST come up with a "metapat mirroring" compo.
Navis: out of curiousity, how did the post get involved? :O

I asked for the card to be sent to me to UK (together with the awards) cause I ran out of luggage space. The sender was not scamp or any other breakpoint orga.

The package arrived ok, but the awards pushed their way into the card. Ironically, had debris won all the awards I would be sitting here now with a perfectly working nvidia quadro :-)

For the record, on top of that I paid a fine of 25 euros to cheapo-air cause they found a bottle of vodka in my luggage...

navis, you had to pay 25euros for having vodka in your luggage?
added on the 2008-04-17 15:48:12 by nosfe nosfe
yes, the rule is:

you cannot take vodka (or any other liquid, including water) on the plane. But if you prefer you can check it in (as luggage) and fined something like 23-25 euros.

ryanair rules.
