category: general [glöplog]

i just tried to catch up on the random hilter thread, A LOT of the youtube videos posted there produce this result:

BB Image

when did the internet become nationaly seperated?
did i miss a meeting?
imho this is fucking racist. they should all take a slice of demoscene where people from all over the world incl. polish and german and even some jewish(hi bacter!) enjoy hitler jokes and have a good/cheap laugh. in a way this nazi-ism is turned into its opposite: it brings people together. four a cheap laugh, but a laugh non the less.

/me ... ranting.

ps: some others say "This video has been removed due to terms of use violation." and there are even a couple of videos that actually play. wow. nice going youtube/google-douchebags. why not burn some of your scanned books while youre at it as well?

and, of course the real reason of your anger has nothing to do with racism, book-burning or the demoscene, but simply with you being deprived of your daily dosis of funny movies and having detox problems.

What I find irritating isn't the fact that youtube can restrict some videos to certain countries, but the fact that they often advertise such videos on the front page.

If they can check your country before the video, they just might be able to do so for the front page as well, and save many people the feeling that neener neerer, we've got something interesting and we're not letting you see it..

GPass is an open-source little gem that will connect many programs through some USA proxies. The software is incredibly simple to use, and I tested it by watching "Slacker Uprising" for demonstration purposes. (Banned outside of the US) Blip.tv quality and high speed !

Petition your own government to allow the shitheads and the problem is solved. It's not like you don't already have nazis in your country, they just don't run around with swastikas.

But...is it illegal to even mention Hitler in germany or watch videos ? I'm not really sure I understand what is going on here?!

eebliss:
actually mentioning is not illegal. at school we learn in quite detail how he got into power and so on "to make sure it does never happen again", so they say. looking at the current german government at least some SS-like features are comming back. it is however that certain symbols( swastika etc ) are forbidden from public display and such. but since even german tvcommedinas make fun on that subject, i do not see why google/youtube can't....

some dude even did a comparison of the current minister for interrior dr. Wolfgang Schäuble vs Hitler.
BB Image
Dr. Wolfgang Schaeuble (funny captin added by me)
i know normally when somebody compares someone with Hitler thats the point of a debate where things get out of hand, but in this case he compares the political deeds of them both...
